I'm really interested in this competition and I've attempted to read through the guidelines but there are many parts that I do not understand. I was hoping I could get more information??? If you're uncomfortable with sharing that's fine too.

After reading this discussion, I still think I'm going to give it a try. I know my comics don't do as well as many others, but at the very least, it's good motivation to put my best efforts into a comic I've been thinking about for a while.

Also, I'm unemployed at the moment so wtf not haha

Bless this post. I was so busy with school these past few weeks, that had it not been for this thread I wouldn't have known the contest existed.

I think this could be a great chance for practice and exposure, if not for the money and a chance to be featured. Plus most of the event will be during summer vacation for me, so I have more time than I normally would. Unfortunately, I had to put my current webtoon comic on hiatus for this contest because with my perfectionism I can't handle both.

Downside is, webtoon, as people mentioned, can be really toxic, I've experience my own past comics (3 comics) being downrated (1/10) for no particular reason. The reason I even noticed was because the story is still far too new to warrant any of the necessary hate and had a 10 rating then dropped to 5.5. Which with the competition I can only imagine this happening even more. Even though that's something I would never do (unless the comic was fully plagiarized) because creators put a lot of efforts into their comics and I know that as a creator.

Welp, the creator of Lalin's Curse is submitting her comic, willing to bet she'll win something (honestly surprising Lalin's Curse wasn't featured yet). Plenty of other webtoon creators have announced they are rebooting their comic or going on hiatus specifically for this contest. Makes me wonder if I should start uploading asap since I have such a relatively small fanbase in comparison to these larger creators. . .. Eek it's all so intimidating but wish everyone good luck!

From what I remember, first place gets 80K, but you also get some money for making it to top 8 and then again for top 4. I think it's 5k, then 20k, then 80k.

I checked the page and it says 50k for the grand prize winner, so it's 80k total, not 100k

...where exactly are the entries? Am I blind, or does a category for contest entries not exist (yet)?

There's no category for contest entries (at the moment) and no way to tell contest entries from older comics. It's... bizarre.

Isn't it just a case of upload any new comic that fits the criteria and it's automatically entered?

That’s bizarre. So if you want it or not, if you start a comic now it will automatically enter the contest (as long as it fits the criteria)

(Although I was really hoping there is a extra category where you can see entries. I wonder if WT will keep promoting Discover comics or pause that during the competition. )
