I was wondering what you guys think of Yonkoma (Or 4koma for short) which is basically the manga version of comic strips. I always love reading comic strips and 4koma is no exception. Recently I've been reading various 4koma and it's sorta inspired me to use one of my ideas as a 4koma comic. (And it would be a good way for me to use my comic strip paper) My only problem would be figuring out how to put action in a four panel strip since I was considering on either doing a sci-fi strip or a paranormal strip both of them would have some action in them.

i love yonkoma!!!! (If you look at my reading list you can tell :PP) i think it's probably alright to not stick so closely to the rule of having 4 panels, it's more of the essence of yonkoma (like havin a punchline at the end and not much of a longform, heavy plot) that you can project!! lookin forward to reading your yonkoma comics :))

oh man, im so excited to binge read all your stufffff

Thank you so much!!

I recommend Magnolia Online, The Crawling City, Neet x Businessman, and Akihabara Tales if you want to binge 4-koma.

I like them! I have some experience drawing 4koma strips, as gag pages. Will your strip be more of a gag series, or have a long-running story?

Ye, if it's got a bit of action, some scenes will probably end up being broken down in several "sets" of 4koma strips, all with some punchline. Sometimes you can also divide one panel in two - without the usual gutter - so that adds an extra bit... I've also seen a comic that does parts in 4koma and then switches to usual comic within the chapter (manga called One Week Friends). Of course there's also 6 panel comics... This reminds me of a specific webcomic I read a long time ago;;; It had a pretty serious over-arching story and I'm not even sure each 6-panel update had a joke. Unfortunately, idr what it's called. I know that it's over, has smth akin to magical girls, and there's a power called the Higher Authority.
