Tips for Tumblr themes?

So I've been a little more active on Tumblr lately and as I'm spending more time there I realize that I'd like to find better themes for each of my blogs (currently have 4). I sketched out these layouts that I would like to have, and if I'm lucky find, but I haven't had much luck.

Each one corresponds w/ each blog i have thus far:

art blog

sideblog

sonic sideblog

comic au blog

I'd attempt to code them myself but it's been ages since i've worked with html (or any other coding format for that matter) so I'm hoping someone could maybe point me in the right direction to find some themes that are at least close to what I've got above or at least allow for some customization (i.e. colors, img/color bgs, accessible layout/text, etc)

As for the "html stuff" I'm mostly just interested in those character floaters you can sometimes have at the side of a page or music players (mainly intended for the sideblogs not so much the art/folio one)

If anyone can offer some aide or guidance it'd be greatly appreciated

i am not well-versed in html, but i will reply and like this so it will be at the top of the thread list so you don't get lost in the sea of threads. i hope you'll find someone to help you!

There's a theme called Accessible that has a layout similar to what you depicted and a lot of customization that can be done from within the menu.

For my art blog I use a theme called Observer.

it has the links on top of your blog instead of to the side tho, but it also comes with really big images which IMO is good for an art blog. You can also put links in a post and then make it your pinned post. That way it will display for mobile users too.

For my comic blogs I used a theme called "Simple Webcomic Theme" geared towards webcomics specifically.

reviving this thread because it got WORSE

so aside from not having found a theme (i found a few) tumblr decided to do a thing that janked up a bunch of people's themes, mine included.

i'm not sure what the screw up is or how it happened but lots of folks lost their themes or the themes they used before just don't work. and i've been trying even harder to find new ones but they also do not work

SO i once again turn to this place esp since it's one of the few places i actually sometimes kind of get responses from seeking your aide

i'd still prefer themes with layouts similar to what i've got up top but at the same time i'm willing to make sacrifices just so i can get something that works. ideally i can get a banner and icon combo with like single column scroll because those multi column, all over the place themes distract the hell outta me but again i am willing to make some sacrifice.

I used to have a layout on my old Tumblr blog that was pretty much exactly what you described, but can't remember where to find it for the life of me and my old blog has been deleted years ago ;___; it was an old theme, though, I remember already having to do some manual changes around 3 years ago to get it to work with Tumblr, so I'm guessing with the new theme fuckery that is going on, it probably wouldn't work anyway.

BUT! Have you tried looking at blogs like Theme Hunter? They have a whole bunch of themes (some of which seem kinda similar to the ones you designed) and they're still updating, so there's a chance some of their themes might still work?

I used to have it on my blog once, it has a sidebar which you can customize with a picture of your choice, description + navigation in the sidebar and posts in a single colum. Only downside it that everything is, like, extremely tiny. Your description needs to be super short and even your links can't be more than, like... 10 letters .__. but at least it's an "official" Tumblr theme, so it SHOULD supposedly work :'D a couple of similar themes are also listed at the end of the page.
