Too many undos in SAI

I have the undo function set to the first button on my pen and also to one of the buttons on my tablet. In Paint Tool SAI when I use the one on my pen it will go back (or undo) two steps instead of one, but on the tablet it just does one. How can I get it to work correctly with my pen? I'm using a Wacom Bamboo Create.

Weird. To be perfectly honest, it seems unnecessary and a waste of buttons to have undo set to two. Pick one. It might be your having it set to two that's causing problems in the first place. Hell, I use a Companion 2 and it comes with two buttons on the pen, an eraser end, six buttons on the tablet, and a radial menu. It's still not enough sometimes lol but the Create doesn't have near as many. Pick one, experiment with which one you like more (honestly having it on the pen would be better for the desk tablet that you're using - I use it on my button settings because my tablet's portable and I'm always holding it, unless I've got it off to the side and I have a keyboard, in which case, CTRL + Z. However, there is a higher chance of you accidentally hitting it and double clicking because it's on the side of your pen.)

Are you sure you're not just accidentally double clicking it? You might just be putting too much "click" into your clicking. Check your pen settings too, make sure it's not set to default double click.

Other than that though, again, seems a little unnecessary to have undo set to two buttons. Maybe a button for undo AND redo, but whichever one you use more/works better for your work habit, pick one and go with that lol

Thank you for your response. I've tried your suggestions, but it didn't change at all. And yea I'm not clicking it too much or by accident. I've tested it by very deliberately clicking the button. If you wouldn't mind maybe you could watch on my stream and I can show you what it's doing. Also a little off topic but, how is the Companion? I've been wanting to get one but not sure if it'd be worth it.

A bit of a touchy question, but is your version of SAI cracked? BLINK ONCE FOR YES, TWICE FOR NO LOL

Either way, sometimes cracked versions of SAI can act up and just, well, not work. Have you had problems with this undo thing in other programs like GIMP or Photoshop or Fire Alpaca?

I use the Companion 2. It's great for me, but that's because I'm always on the go from home to work and I needed a replacement for my laptop (which was and still is a no go to use). In my case, it's great! And it'll at least pay itself off because I use it for my comic and freelancing/professional work (and believe me, it is an expensive product; it set me back around $3000 after taxes). If you're more of a desk worker, then I'd recommend getting a Cintiq HD, which is a digital display monitor you plug into your computer, and basically serves the same function (whereas a Companion 2 is a full computer with the Windows OS that also serves as a digital display to draw on).

I can do many things with a Cintiq that I'm unable to do with a tablet without a screen, such as neat handwriting and animation, but I'm someone that requires better hand-eye coordination. Was it worth it? Yes. And I hope in the future I'll be paid as much as how much it cost.

Not cracked. I bought it. I don't have the issue in any of my other programs. Artrage 4, Sketchbook Pro, Fire Alpaca, and others.
Also do I use the touch function to zoom in and out and move the canvas in Artrage,(My primary program) but I can't move the canvas in SAI. Any suggestions on that?

Do you have the Zoom tool set to Drag in the settings for it? Otherwise, I just use an express key for zoom, then an express key for alt to alternate between zooming in and out.

Does SAI have the capability to move the canvas with a touch pad? Also any more ideas on the undo problem? Thanks for your help so far.

I found this post because I had the same problem but I managed to fix it.

It was because I had the button set to [Ctrl + Z] in the SAI settings AND in my Wacom tablet preferences at the same time. So just go into Wacom preferences and set the button to "Default" and make sure it's set to [Ctrl + Z] in SAI. I tried setting to "Default" in SAI and [Ctrl + Z] in Wacom preferences but that disables being able to undo in SAI altogether. It has to be the other way around.
