In the case of Zack, insecurity.

He's afraid that the feelings aren't mutual and that by confessing his, he runs the risk of making things "weird" between them and inevitably losing the friend he already has. So he'd rather settle for what he has than risk losing it all, even if it means he won't be any happier for it.

As for Kyara, unresolved guilt.

Some events in the past, I will not delve into deeper for spoiler reasons, caused a lot of harm and she feels responsible. She fears that growing closer with the person she likes will end up causing them more pain, because she believes she has hurt them before. Now while she claims to keep her distance, she has done pretty much the opposite of that, and as events unfold in future chapters this guilt will flare up immensely! Especially as things go less and less her way and is less in control.

Sounds like he's going through something rather similar to Kattar

Yeah It's kinda in the same vein as Kattar, but with less focus on him feeling 'not good enough' for them, but more with a fear of rejection. The accident that cost him his arm saw him getting tossed aside like yesterday's trash by his factory caretaker.

yikes, that's gonna do a number on your self-esteem, but wouldn't that sort of being along the vein of not considered not good enough, or not worth a lot?

Yeah I guess you're right on that, it all does tie into a similar feeling.

I am going to mention Crow's Worth because I did sort of leave a lot of loose threads.

Throughout the story there is a strange dynamic between Miss and Blake. They used to date as kids/teens but at one point they broke up and ended up dating new people. Miss mentions that Blake cheated on her. Later on, Blake mentions having a kid in his early 20s and being pressured to marry young. And despite it seeming they still might have feelings for each other, Blake doesn't want to abandon his kids.

As for Crow and his date, I guess I never figured out 100% what I wanted to do with that plotline but also that I felt like people lost interest in the series in general. In very early drafts, he ended up with Dai. But after some rewrites, I thought it would be better if Dai was rejected. Crow mentions he has a crush on someone else but it's never revealed who it is.

I guess I sort of finished the main plotline of the series but there are small details that I never fully addressed. There was more planned for the series, including a new plotline about another demon who shows up. But the last chapter took a lot of effort to draw and really underpreformed. It wasn't really worth the effort.

I think I sort of decided to just put my energy into my newer series.

well, if you don't like the work, don't waste your time on it, you projects should be your passion

I mean, I love my comic. It's just that I always struggled to find the right audience for it. If people were interested in more, like I said, I have more to add to it.

I'm firmly of the belief that, with passion projects such as these, your main audience is always you yourself.
I get that you want others to read and enjoy it, but believe you me, had Trespasser had 0 readers I'd still be making it!

I agree with what Kevin said, you should write what you write because you love it and it's an expression of your soul. Be like Cyrano De Bergerac, and remember that your own admiration is high praise!

It’s weird when someone is trying to give me a pep talk and not realizing my series is almost 300 pages long.

It took a long time to do and I just wish it did better. Like I said, I would rather put energy into my new series which people seem to prefer.

i'm not sure i really understand how the length of the story relates. the gravity rests in how you feel about the story, regardless of its length. if you'd rather write the new one, then do it, but i don;'t think writers should do anything because it's what people seem to prefer, do it because it's what you want to write or what feels authentically you/your soul

I mean, Trespasser is going to border, if not exceed 600 pages. So I'm aware of how daunting a lengthy project might be. But as Leyelle says, do it because you want to do it, not because other people want you to do it.

Right now mines looking like it's going to be at least three novels, so probably about 150,000 words minimum, if it doesn't go longer. though i know making comics is a lot harder than making novels

Jamie and John - he was arrested for a crime he didn't commit while she was in labor. While he was being brainwashed by a magic mask into committing a string of bank robberies, his wife is kidnapped to be turned into a supersoldier.

Cole and Stephanie - Cole put up a lot of walls as a widowed, single father. Stephanie helped him raise his daughter. With their jobs as assassin and cat burglar, they can't be together.

It takes place in the modern world. It has a lot of urban fantasy elements in it.

thought it must be, given that you were talking cat burglars and such, i rarely see those in other genres i think. so which of your couple story lines do you like the best?
