Forgot to add:

Eliza and Aaron are both affectionate people. Though Aaron's a lot less intense than Eliza (who's the sort to sweep her husband off his feet and kiss him if she's so inclined) he will cuddle and coo over her basically forever, if she would sit still long enough (but she's a cat, you can only get her to sit still for you to snuggle for like, ten-twenty minutes tops)

I feel like I somewhat forgot to address the idea of characters being affectionate or loving emotionally and verbally, so I'll do that one tomorrow

The closest character I have in my story to a kuudere is a character who is essentially an empty shell. Incapable of caring about anyone or anything and having no goals or aspirations aside from wanting to do nothing.

My novel has a character who I meant to have a kuudere element to him that just sort of... didn't happen somehow. The comic I'm planning is the same so far.

My tertiary male love interest is very icy though. Probably why he's my favorite lol.

So:

Kattar and Alicia: (Damsel in the Red Dress)

Neither one of them compliments each other a lot on their physical appearance. Alicia, a bit out of annoyance, because girls are always gushing over him, and have since they were in Junior High. On Kattar's part, it's out of awkwardness, and wariness to scare her away or be rejected. I mean, when you practically live with your best friend it could ruin everything if the feeling isn't mutual, and he's terrified to death of that idea. On the other hand, he compliments her constantly about her talent and genius, trying with everything in him to convince her she's "got this" and has what it takes to be legendary someday.

Jinwoo and Kimberly: (Hushabye Prince)

Kimberly will give subtle flirtatious compliments, but she's not the type to say things overtly, as she's trying to feel Jinwoo out, and he's pretty hard to read. Jinwoo will give compliments to his little sister all the time, because he's not worried about scaring her, but with other people, he's wary, and opts toward staying quiet if he's not sure how what he says will be taken.

Aaron and Eliza:
Flirt all the time. Basically non-stop. Also complain about each other, but they have no shame in giving each other compliments. Why should they? They've been married for 9 years.

Well, they both definitely try to hide their feelings for the other, but that doesn't stop them from complimenting each other haha.

So for my male leads at least, i not all, but in several of them, I'm guilty of designing long haired pretty boys, often asian, usually Korean, because it happens to be what I find pretty. However, this is not always the way it is. I have a couple of (currently) unreleased novels where my male leads have short hair, and are of of other ethnicities, though to be fair, they're a lot more drama than romance. But then again, "Damsel in the Red Dress" is pretty drama-ish too.

That being said, both Jinwoo and Kattar are (at least) part asian with long hair. But other parts of their aesthetic are different from each other, and they're personalities are entirely different.

Now Kimberly and Alicia are extremely different aesthetically, they're only similarity is really that they're both girls with brown skin.

Kimberly is tall and (naturally) blond with green eyes. She has great fashion sense. Alicia is Alicia...no style. Very very very short, with dark hair and dark eyes, and scars. Mexican and Navajo while Kimberly is African American and Melanesian. So they're pretty different, imao.

I have a lot of tragically separated teen friends in my fiction. It's everywhere. Two crazy kids who were different from everyone else and only had each other but were split up by some outside force and are just now starting to connect again.

It's even the dynamic between a hero and the dark lord in my comic.

I only have two romance leads out of my three stories. They are both very different I must say. In one, the female lead is very sweet and pretty, and the male lead is some guy who’s done a lot of murder and thievery who doesn’t really deserve her, but is trying to redeem himself. In the other, the female lead is AN ABSOLUTE GREMLIN, while the male lead is… emo? Has family problems? I’m seeing a pattern of sad guys who meet girls that change them for better, or for worse…

I like couples that change each other for the better, but i tend to prefer it to be at least a little mutual

Yeah, the female lead does learn a lot too. I just didn’t mention it because she’s not really the main character. ^^
I now realize that all of my stories have male MCs… what can I say? I like guys.

I think mine are about fifty male to female leads.
