Twitch Streaming Your Art

Hey, guys! I’m wanting to get a tablet so that I can Twitch Stream my art! I’m just not sure how I would set that up and stream it with my voice in the background. Has anyone ever done this before?

A good program to use in my opinion is Streamlabs! I haven't done art streams before, but you should be able to set up a "scene" where you can stream exclusively the window of whatever art program you're using and connect your microphone as audio. You can even have background music playing quietly, if that's your kind of thing!

If you do end up using it, I'd also recommend creating a "Stream Starting Soon" and "Thanks for watching" scene to give people time to hop onto stream without missing anything important!

Keep in mind that while Twitch totally takes art streamers as an open platform, it wasn't built for art. Much like how Livestream wasn't "built" for art. Picarto was built for art. Free software will be able to connect to any of the three just by using the proper codes and stuff built into the programs / logins. I also use a free version of Streamlabs OBS and it does a perfectly fine job.

That’s one of the challenges I was figuring I might face. To be honest, I don’t know a whole ton about Twitch. I’ve tried streaming Destiny 2 gameplay, but I really suck at that game. I was hoping to start getting my art out there a little more through streaming. So is Streamlab a different platform similar to Twitch, or is it just a recording program?

Oh also keep in mind that if you want to keep whatever you stream so you can watch it back later in a month or two. Twitch is not for you. You need to pay, or have a certain number of subs, forget which, to have permanent videos. Youtube keeps things for eternity until you manually remove them (or they get flagged and removed by the system).

Streamlabs OBS btw comes with the "stream starting soon!" and "thanks for watching" cards in free "themes" you can find built into the system.

"Twitch" is the "overhead" dot com site where your video is fed to the public. That can also be youtube, livestream, picarto and so on. The software you need is what will capture the video and audio.

This how my "live" scene looks. As you can see at the bottom I have a card for "stream starting" and "ending"

One thing that people use is "studio mode"

Where they can edit stuff while seeing what's live.

I haven't tested really to see if the things to interact with actually work. The bar at the top for a goal, the heart at the bottom, and the Ko-Fi click in on the bottom right of my windows. Testing wise in the software itself they all work, but keep in mind those are things almost geared exclusively toward Twitch.

There's some easy guides to follow online. But basically, at least with this software, you need to match your service to your stream key

I suggest just downloading the program and poking around while reading some guides to see what it has to offer. That's what I did and I still don't know what all it can do, or if I have it set up "right".
