I don't like Empire Strikes Back. I think its the weakest movie for the most parts. I can't stand Luke, so all his parts just sucked, especially the part where he just left in the middle of the battle. Like bro, you just left your friends to die as far as you know. Now I was really tired when it came on, cause we were binging the movies, but that wasn't all of it either.
Han and Leia are the only characters from the OG I really cared about, so I would enjoy their parts of the story, but the limitations of what could be done at the time really show in how nothing really happens on their end. They just kind of hang around the falcon for the most part, waiting for the plot to get moving, and when something interesting finally does start happening in the film, it ends.
That's not too crazy for a TV show that your binging week to week, but for a movie it means you'll be waiting years, and movies are kind of long, so I expect to get something out of it. Even if that feeling is unsatisfaction or depression. This is just a film where nothing really happens.
And the Return of the Jedi doesn't pay it off in my opinion, because Episode VI skips years ahead into the future, passed the part where Luke grows and changes. His development ends up feeling implied more than anything, which can work, but also feels pretty lackluster considering how much of an annoyance he was before.
Especially after all those speeches I'd heard about Luke being a symbol of hope and stuff. I'm like, "Is the symbol of hope in the room with us now?"
Other quick takes:
Back to the Future is Boring movie where nothing happens. I heard the sequels were more exciting, but this isn't a TV series. This is a movie
Jurassic Park's best bits were the ones around its themes and characters, away from the dinosaurs. The stuff with the Dinosaurs I found really boring, because the kids were the ones in Danger, and I as an adult knew they were going to be fine
Harry Potter fell off after the second or third movie. I liked when it was dealing with more mystery horror stuff, and I just hate the Goblet of Fire. Mostly cause of the Underwater challenge, which made me cry as a child because I was also terrified of drowning and related the most to Ron and Ms. Granger(I don't remember how to spell her name). Even outside of though, the film and the rest are just a slog to get through
