Very Big Collaboration Idea (comic + lit)

So back in the day when forums were the I had a thought while being oppressively bored at work.

the best communicate with communities, we occasionally did a thing called a campfire, round table story, or comic war. Basically, one person would post a starting page/intro. Then someone would would reply with page 2, so on and so forth. You'd have this long chain of a story that keeps twisting and turning as it flows through different creator's hands.

I thought this could be a fun experiment on this site. It could also be a way to direct readers to lots of new creators by chaining each chapter to the previous and the next.

I'm curious if anyone would be interested in this. If so, we can discuss a starting point/pick the starting person, and make a list of people for the turn order, etc.

I know there is one sort of going for comics, but I'd like to do one for comics and writing, together. Each person posts one page or episode (1200 words or less). Definitely an original piece too, so no fan chars or shoehorn ingredients in characters you already made. Let's make something new and wild!

Would anyone be up for the challenge? ^^

If you'd like to be the leader, please say so too. Feel free to suggest the genre/setting/mood/opening scene too...
Otherwise I will start and choose the basic set up using my many mighty generators xD

However, I will most definitely be one of the readers. This stuff will be quirky as heck! Just seeing it all unravel, twist, change styles. Just like those DC comics when all of a sudden there is a change of artist in the middle of an issue. Some people hate. I lap it up like a cat milk.

Oh but that's the point! It's not at all about serving any one creator's work. It's more like the torch passing. The episode you write is entirely your own. You can change the plot dramatically, add new characters, shift the setting, bend the genre... It's up to each creator how they use the threads if the last.

It's not soych about the finished process so much as the fun of interacting and creating together too. ^^ SO yeah, feel free to jump in any time. I plan on running it so the chain can keep expanding to allow in new creators and keep the story twisting in unexpected ways.

Well, you couldn't stop anyone if on their turn a gag character turned up, and you'd have to respect that. But realistically on your turn you can just choose not to focus on those characters, or ignore the romance aspect. I for one am not crazy about romance in general so if some characters end up having interests, eh. That's not the part that I'll be adding to much at all. XD

Would you be interested in leading or more in playing? ^^

I'm not sure why, but my phone decided to autocorrect gay to gag?! XD Thanks phone. Anyway, yes I can definitely make rules. I can make it like a game actually! Somethingike, you can tally up plot points by including weight in your episode. Then you can spend plot points to make major changes to the plot, like whacking characters you can't stand xD it could be pretty fun.

You'll be able to create anything, so long as it ties to the contingency plot that's being formed. And yes, you'll post to your own page too, so it should cause a flow of readers from profile to profile! Which might be very helpful.
