I love me some Nintendo OSTs but tbh they don't really do enough for me in terms of getting me in a writing mood (not surprised, all I do is drama lmao) so I need me a little something else..
Hyper Light Drifter's got an amazing electronic OST. Very ambient and intense at times, Northern part of the map is my favorite by far for aesthetics and background lore. The music itself there is just so.. Lonely and dreary and increases in tension the further you get to the end of it all.
Hollow Knight's a fantastic feat of composing orchestral arrangements for a now beloved indie metroidvania. Very baroque and epic overall. I recommend checking it out if you're into Castlevania's music.
Moonlighter's the most recent one I discovered by playing the game and.. it's so solid. Very Zelda-like in its music, but it maintains its own identity throughout. The main theme of Rynoka Village especially at night is so nostalgic to me, man.
