Viewing the comics in the new layout

Some comics when I click on the one in my library, they always have 'episode 1' first which is annoying. I tried to go to latest before clicking the new update but the next time it still have oldest first. Could it be changed or an setting put in so that you ALWAYS go to the latest when clicking on a comic for those that don't reread as much and just want to see the latest one if updated or the last one they were on just after they click on the comic in their library.

There should be a toggle for the viewer to change the order of the episodes from newest to oldest and vise versa

This is determined by the creator.
Creators have the option to list their series episodes in order of most recent or in descending order from episode one.

There is but no matter when I press 'newest first' it ALWAYS has 'oldest first' when I go back to that series.

Oooooh, okay then. Well as Joannekwan, the order is determined by the Creator then; unless the sorting option for the viewer is bugged.

Likely the sorting option the Creator chose is considered a priority, so the site doesn't remember you clicked the other option.

IE My work is set to show "oldest first" so Ch1 will appear on top.
You come in, read and leave to read something else or go eat. Come back, and click "newest". You read, then leave again, and upon returning the "sort" has been set to Default.
Likely Tapas right now cannot patch it to remember someone's settings either across devices, account wide, or at all due to how the site is: 1) coded to begin with; 2) to recognize that Creators have a choice; 3) pandemic has made resources thin.
