The thing is- any time I walk into any book store or comic store- any time I go out to see a new movie- most of the stories I see are written by straight, cisgender people about other straight, cisgender people. I don't know that I would describe this as overwhelming, mostly because I'm just used to it by this point, and have come to seek out and make the kind of stories I never got to see or read. But this is the context that causes LGBT content to flourish on websites like Tapas in the first place. The thing I was really getting at with my comment is that this isn't a topic in the way that foot fetishism is a topic. It's a facet of a person that can deeply affect their life experience.
Anyway, this could be a pretty involved conversation, and I realize that's not what your post is about. So here are some stunningly beautiful comics off the top of my head that I don't see mentioned too often, where the art regularly blows me away (and inspires me to work that much harder on my own):
The Soul Returns to the Earth
Step Aside
Cambalache
Pauvres Defans Amis
Puu (பூ )
