Webcomic pages' size on Tapes

Hello guys, here is the newbie asking for some stuff about comic pages size and format so that it can fit well on Tapastic. So...what's the best pages measures for Tapes? Better Jpeg, Png or something else?

it's pretty much what @daeofthepast mentions.

The maximum page size allowed is 940x4000 but you can always work on a larger canvas and shrink it down to fit the page guidelines so long as your file size doesn't exceed 2MB. As an example for one of my last updates, I started with a canvas size of 1080x2200 and did all the work from sketch to lines colors and text. Then shrunk the final image down to a width of 940 (making sure that proportions were constrained) and was able to publish that with no issue (a little over 1MB)

I personally do this steps:
1. I make each panel in 18.1 x 26.04 cm as If those panels were to be made into a traditional comic. The reason is I want to preserve the images large enough to maybe someday, If I want to, print them in high quality. It's harder when the image is smaller to fit it into anything else.
2. Each image I save I cut it to the maximum in the file explorer. Again it helps with quality.
3. I have the Photoshop file the exact size Tapastic recommends: 940 x 4000 px
4. I place each image and make sure it looks ok with the preview button in Tapastic (you can upload the image/episode and not release it, instead you preview how it will look. I try to make sure it looks good enough for mobile and desktop)

Font I use in case you need it is back issues 8px

Optional extra step if you want to make it for mobile: When in Chrome, press left click of your mouse and select Inspect. Some code will emerge at the side. Look for a smartphone icon in the bar above that code and press it to have a preview of how it will look like in the phone. It's not exactly the same but you get an idea. To get out of this, just press the x situated in the top let corner.

Do you mind me asking what you use/how you do actually shrink your canvas after?

I use gimp but if there's an easier way I'd love to know!

I've been using medibang paint pro for the past few years so any time I'm making changes to canvas size or the dimensions of an image itself i use those functions within the program. I also tend to work at 350dpi to ensure decent quality without going over Tapas' file size limitation.

I'm also aware of folks who use the croppy tool to resize or slice pages but it's not something I've used so someone else would have to explain that
