Not a very consistent website, indeed.

I don't know if I'm missing some info or what, but that whole platform looks so fishy! I've never checked it before, including main site, and nothing makes sense to me: inconsistent everything, from ratings to views etc.. it looks like everything is tampered with, honestly.As a first look, that is.

If you're talking about the main WebcomicsApp platform, I imagine it has the same kinks and twitches of any beginning site. I've been very happy with our rep, very responsive considering the time zone differences.

And it's getting different eyes on our groups project ...which has got to be the primary goal of hosting on multiple sites.

Yeah, I guess they all do that, but this is unusually visible here. It struck me. But in a way, at least I know what to expect..

I don't think I'll ever get used to all these dishonest methods, although I know that's how everything works, and that they actually HAVE to, to survive against other dishonest competitors etc

From the looks of things, I can't actually read comic pages on this wiki, so it doesn't seem to be stealing anything, it's more of a "Hey, this comic exists!" Unless it's different on the mobile version.

I just checked it myself, and since it seems to pull comics from Webtoons, I have 5 works there but only one of them is listed on the app (and it's the one with least subs I have lol).
If it was automated, I think all 5 should be there right??

Eeeeh... my Webtoon is listed as well for the Webtoons and Tapas Mirror. Seems like it was listed at episode 18 so it's not all up to date, but it looks like they haven't reuploaded it, so...

the search is very picky tho, for example:

My friend has a comic called "Trip Across the Multiverse" typing in the whole title just caused the list to reset to unsearched default but just putting "Multiverse" gave me results and its there... twice... one for the tapas page... and one for the webtoons page XD

I just checked, mine is there too. I'm curious to know who took the time to put this on their wiki, why and how the rank system works.

This is really shady. And their copyright policy is also shady....

Maybe they want to be some kind of myanimelist? Or is it just their strategy to attract people coming from the search engines... (hence increasing SEO)

Out of curiosity, I downloaded the app and created an account.

From what I can tell, you can't even access the Wiki from the app. Which just makes me wonder, where are these ratings coming from?

Also, if it says "read" it's uploaded to the site
but if it says "view" it's just information.

There's also report buttons, so I assume you can ask it to be removed.

It doesn't seem to be fully automated. Out of curiosity I typed my own comic and it appeared, totally out of date (if we consider one update as a chapter, then it shows 6 page, now I have 21). But when I typed a comic of my most active reader, it didn't show anything, even though his comic gains more readers. Maybe as @sekabead said, it tries to be a comic version of myanimelist... But still, it's weird

I googled the name and saw a basketball player. A vision of professional basketball player having nothing better to do than to upload comics on some app's wiki and rating them made me laugh a llittle, though I know it's just a coincidence. xD

Found one of mine. An oldish one with only three episodes. It's only on tapas so I think they're pulling from both sites.

The rating thing is really iffy. Actually the whole thing feels shady.

If i was to guess? The rating system might be more comics they think are good and may wanna hit up with contracts later.Remember, there are people who were offered contracts outta no where with them so they have eyes on the different sites.
