Website update changes

Guys, I think everyone is overreacting. It's not like its terrible. You just have to get used to some things. If this brings more new people to read the comics, then I'll take it.

...Oh god no. I needed the schedule to make sure the timezone isn't in daylight savings and I'm actually posting social media updates at the right time.

I've finished setting up a Comic Fury page and I can only hope I'm just being overprepared and I can just happily chip away at it as Chapter 1 ends. Not optimistic about it.

1. where can i find the recently updated/fresh free-to-read comics? do we have to dig for it, or is the option not there anymore?
2. why are premium comics still mixed with free ones when i look into the different genres? are the 489732 banners not enough marketing for them lol??

That is always something that happens when new stuff get pulled over your head. So yes, this is expected.
Color fonts and other stuff is just changes, but navigation is key,

But it will not remove the fact that EVERYTHING about internet is about navigation. (According to my education)
And what Tapas did better than others, was navigation.

Now try to scroll the tapas comic frontpage a bit, and then look for any navigation.
The popup navigation we see as we read episodes is just ignoring and a feature that belongs to fancy company business card sites. Not community driven sites.
And removing the sidebar is a downgrade in navigation too.

the biggest thing i've been fighting with in the new update is the SEARCH BAR!!!

so the little window that opens up does nothing

clicking on any of these leads to nothing, it just sits there... ok so i type a comic and originally, i hit the Magnafying glass to go, it doesnt do that anymore, it sends you to a zero results fresh page so 3 times i had to type the fucking series in to finally search it up

i used my series as the example but the series i was looking for has a longer title >:l

This top/bottom bar BS with it appearing and disappearing is just ridiculous and annoying.

you can click anywhere on the page and the menu will show up again. yeah, i know, not intuitive.

People are going to stop reading because of all the extra clicks.

not necessarily, but navigation needs to be more obvious and not hidden behind a click for this to work.

It doesn't. It brings people to premium comics, because this makes it harder to see the free ones when they're all mixed in (and, until the next update, the premium ones are the only ones with shiny big covers). We WILL get used to it like we got used to new Reddit, new Facebook, new Twitter. This never made any of those changes good. The stress period just passed and we grumble our way through problems that didn't exist before because complacency is the only option when nothing is changed despite complaints.

Idea was good, a lot of things would be good in new layout,.. but tapas need to deploy new changes to production after they finished it... now it's not finished,... it's in progress,... it's completed at 50%, implementation is now horrible... a lot of things doesn't work,... search bar suck, when you not press enter but click on suggested series, nothing happen,... when you are reading novel and want to change font from size 2 to size 5, you need to click on symbol in nav menu, click on "+" button, it will change size to 3, and it will hide nav menu, so you need again click, to show nav menu and then you can again click on letter symbol, again on symbol "+" to change size to 4 and it will again hide nav menu, so you need to repeat it like idiot, like in video I posted it here, https://forums.tapas.io/t/website-update-changes/41618/107?u=mlocik97 when I'm reading text, pop up menu hide few lines of text when I'm at end of novel, when I want to click on something in main nav menu, I need to scroll on top of page!!! We don't see sheduled update. A lot of autors were spending a lot of hours to create banner, and now it doesn't even display! ....

If tapas has brain, they will return back to old layout, they will take few more months to fix important things in new layout, and maybe, then they can deploy it.

that click work only if you are reading comics/novel, but not on pages like list of episodes, list of comics, list of novels, main page, creators list, etc etc...

ah, i see what you mean. yeah, that doesn't work on other pages. did it work like that before? i honestly can't remember. i'd just press Home on the keyboard or the arrow up in the lower right corner to go up to the menu.
