Webtoon makes pages look blurry?

Hello there!

Im having an issue with uploading an episode on Webtoon where the panels look extremely blurry even though its saved in maximum quality in JPG. (PNG is not supported on Webtoon unfortunately)

The previous episodes, which are lighter, look normal while this new chapter, which is quite dark with red saturated colors, is very pixelated all of the sudden

Does anyone know what the causes are and how it can be fixed? It would be a huge help!

What are your file sizes and DPI?

Webtoon just hates the colour red in my experience. No matter what your quality is, it's going to butcher it. I think saturated red on black also gets the worst of it. (Sucks when all my protagonists have a red colour scheme lmao)

it's because they convert it. it's like that for all comics on there.

The file sizes for each chapter of the episode range from 100-300 KB and the DPI is mostly 72

Oh thats a shame, I also noticed that it specifically happens on Webtoon only! However, the quality on the picture you've shown looks fine though and much better than mine, how do you post pages with a black/red color scheme on Webtoon?

Yeah, it's completely a WT issue. I don't know about fine haha the original was a lot clearer. I think the less saturated the red is, the less gross it'll look though.

I use Croppy to upload on Webtoon! It auto-crops and resizes vertical-scroll pages to fit (and changes them to JPEG)

But I don't think it'll fix the issue since it's pretty much a WT thing.

Oh, you should increase your DPI to 300, which is pretty standard for digital art. Do it for my sake.
