Webtoon's new policy - I don't like it at all

Hello everyone I hope a lot of you will respond to my inquiry. I really would like to know what everyone thinks about webtoons new lame policy. I found out via a friend here on tapas that they are NOW trying to say that they have the rights to OUR comics. Can you believe that, I mean how greedy and unnerving can you be to say or do something as drastic as this. There are many of us who take creating our comics very seriously and are trying to make something unique and an amazing reading experience. Arrrgh I'm so mad right now my new episode is just about ready, but I find this out. Sigh....Now I don't know if I'm gonna continue uploading on webtoon or not. I'm just tired of thoughtless things like this making my life harder and provoking the creation of my series! Please if you can respond to this, I really need to see what others have to say. Thank you very much!

Thank you for responding I hadn't seen any of this. But I mean are they still in so many words trying to say that they have the rights to our comics now?

They've clarified that their policy is roughly similar to Tapas' existing policy: They are allowed to use images from our comics to promote their site. For example, they have the rights to make a big banner to post on social media with a bunch of images from comics posted on the site to show all the cool comics they host, without needing to ask the people who make those comics for permission. They don't in any way own your IP, and would not be able to just reproduce your whole comic to sell as books or merch.

@darthmongoose thanks for telling me that, you have been a big help. I'm still not cool with this at all and am not sure about uploading on their site if they are gonna do things without asking. I'm now sure webtoon is trustworthy anymore.
