Webtoons popularity ranking

Does anybody have any idea how Webtoons rank it's comics? For some reason every time we post an update we get pushed back several positions. But I also notice, that some comics actually move up as soon as the post an update. Both those comics and ours have similar number of subs and likes, and our rating is higher then most of them. The number of likes doesn't seem to affect the ranking too, as one point I asked some friends to like our pages. We got several dozens new likes, and almost immediately dropped a couple more positions. What the hell is happening?

I dont know EXACTLY, but Ive concluded that ranking is determined mostly by the likes you get on your most recently uploaded chapter and slightly by the likes youve gotten on all chapters youve uploaded in the past two weeks. When you upload a new chapter this resets and you climb up the rankings again.

Rating has little to no effect on ranking, as well as subs.

Your rankings do seem a little strange if what youre telling me is accurate, all I can conclude is that your competing series just get boosted by maybe having more frequent updates (so boosting the overall average likes.)

For me webtoons ranking has been consistent, Id always land in an accurate spot every week according to the likes on my recent chapter. But Id also get a lot of likes which also might be more obvious for the system and easier to rank. Idk.

Off topic, but could you or someone else explain where ranking is?
The only lists of comics I see on webtoons are just by popularity or by when the last update was?

That's what I was talking about - discovery ranked by popularity.

That's all they care for in the stats.
Perhaps you also get ranked by the US VIEW too?

Ah, that's what you meant. That doesn't affect the ratings, that's for sure. Otherwise half dead series with 100 subs wouldn't stay in the top, and we would drop out as soon as we disappear from promoted series. The theory with likes on the last page seems much more plausible. Though there still should be other factors...
