I would personally love to see Sirens as they truly are which are birdwomen with beautiful singing voices not alternate takes on mermaids. A classic chimera which is the creature which is a mix of a goat, lion, dragon and snake for the tail.

This also reminds me of Harpies who are often mixed up with sirens since they are both bird woman. Usually a harpy has more bird like features.

From the internet: Harpies are specifically wind spirits, and sirens, despite their avian appearance, are sea spirits.

From the internet: Sirens have the torso of a human, feathered wings and bird legs, it doesn't always specify head of woman or bird and in the odyssey it depicts the sirens as harpies so whatever design you think fits each better is up to you.

I believe I read a book where the protagonist got ahold of a chimera egg and got to hatch an adorable baby chimera all while having to keep it from ending up back in the hands of the person he "aquired" it from. He was supposed to destroy it but we all love when they go nah Imma raise this baby myself, literally.

Except it's going to grow into something like this

So I found that story and oh boy here we go, first off it was only a tiny portion in a much bigger plot, they were saber tooth tigers not chimeras and I must have loved the idea of them running from bad guys in a museum with monster eggs from bad guys that it really took the forefront of the memory.
