What are some uncommon monsters you'd like to see people write about? (I'll sub to your story if you comment)

Just like in the title here are some uncommon monsters I'm currently working on. Kapa(Japanese folklore), Naga (snake-centaur), Arachnecentaur (spider centaurs), Wendigo (not the deer skull version-associated with gluttony and greed) I'm sure I'm missing a bunch so I will definitely return to this thread with more monsters and images of them (hopefully).

I looked up the jorogumo and love that it's similar to a spider centaur in some artistic renditions.

I love yokai lore 🥰 my other story is heavily based on kami and yokai and it was so fun reading up on different ones

oh if you like Wendigos but not the gluttony and greed ones, nahuales are interesting they are like a cousin of skinwalkers or werewolf, there´s more lore but something I like is that they can be good, bad, or neutral some even just say I don't want to be a human I want to be an animal forever and do chaos

The Zitiron, a creature with an upper body in the form of an armed knight, fused with the tail of a fish.

It used to think it was just another wacky creation of Hieronymus Bosch.

The children of Ana are some rather strange demons from Romani folklore, their origin story is pretty dark and messed up.

La Llorona the weeping woman. Most stories say she is a vengeful ghost or "the bad guy" but one variation of the story I heard was she was the victim and her family were the bad guys. I'd love to read a variation where like "the deer woman" she only goes after people like her family. Saving children from the same tragic fate as hers.

You might want to check out la cegua too, its an apparition with the body of a beautiful woman but the head of a horse, it is said that she appears before "play boys" to torment them

i will go with some of m,y own national tradition, the Lenghelo. The name of this elf has many variations, including Lenghero, Lenghelu, or Lengheletto. It is the protagonist of popular stories, especially in the area of the Roman castles. Its name means "elongated," and in fact, it has a tall and slender appearance. He is not evil, but apparently he likes to play a lot of jokes. The sample includes walking on wooden stairs, breaking small objects, and jumping on people’s bellies in their sleep. He usually persecutes those who dislike him or who do wrong to his favorite family. To the humans he respects, he makes them find riches or reveals winning numbers for the lottery.

With how mischievous he is it reminds me of how brownies or home elves are. They have a lot of similar characteristics the big difference between them is size.

Another thing the Lenghelo reminds me of is a Incubus with sitting on people in their sleep but one does it to startle and the other one does it to give dreams.

Incubus are the male counterpart of succubus. They usually are portrayed with wings horns and a tail and very attractive.

Mogwai/ Gremlins are so cute even when you feed them after midnight haha.
Found this on the internet: In essence, while both goblins and gremlins are known for causing trouble, goblins have a broader representation in mythology and folklore, and gremlins are more specifically tied to causing malfunctions in machines and technology.
So a cute story idea is that they are like subspecies of goblins or maybe a close cousin. Haha.
It is believed that the word “gremlin” comes from the Old English word “gremian,” which means “to vex.” Very cute.

Camazotz the Mayan God of Death and Sacrifice. He's featured in a lot of comics and apparently even fought Godzilla that's insane. There is so much writing potential in this character of using him as the god of a civilization of bat-people. Or vampires. So cool.
