Hi there, lovelies!
It's been a while since I've made a topic here, but it's something I'm a bit curious about. How many of us are doing big comic/novel projects? I'm talking about ones that you consider "your babies".
How long have you been working with the project(s)? Have you been working nonstop or have you put time in between and came back to work over time?
Do you have any goal(s) for the project(s)? Do you aim to publish this work for profit? Is this just something you want to do for fun?
What were the humble beginnings? How did you create the idea? How did your projects evolve?
I'll start off with my example:
So, I've been developing a project with the working title of Beneath Our Feet, Above Our Heads. This project consists of 9 main comics with 20 mini comics (each around 10-20 pages long hopefully).
Working Synopsis: Gradually, the paranormal reveals itself to our eyes; it slithers from our woods, crawls from beneath our beds, and emerges from our oceans. Preparing for something while we're left vulnerable. Here tells the nine stories leading to that something.
Orgainzation-wise, because the 9 main stories are so long, it would feel too cluttered to put them all as one anthology. So, I'm deciding to make each comic their own series along with their designated mini-comic. I'll also create one series called Beneath Our Feet, Above Our Heads: The Guide, where I'll post sketches, character sheets, QnA sessions, and other things to help with the story process. It's gonna be a long series no doubt
Here's kinda the breakdown of how the series would look like and how each comic connects with the other. I recently made the first picture to show just how many mini comics would be in each comic. WTW (Within the Woods) is a longer comic with 12 stories, so each story would have a bonus after it, more or less
Overall, I've been working on this series since 2016, more or less. Before them, these comics started off from Creepypasta/Slenderverse fandom stories, as well as horror stories I wrote in middle school. Over time, I figured I'd actually do something with these stories and just felt it easier to combine them all together. It's been an on and off process, and because this is a hobby, I'm not really rushing to finish this. I figure it'll take me a good while before I'm ever done with it. But, this is all for fun, and I wanna keep it that way!
So now it's your turn, lovelies!
What are your big comic/novel projects?
