I'm quite satisfied with my female protagonist Nekoto.
I spent a lot of time on the details of her costume.
Among these, her cat ears are designed to make her, as a human, look like a beastman, and the rope on her back simulates a cat's tail, serving the same purpose. This is a design I'm very pleased with.

Additionally, the pattern on her earrings comes from the 'ko' (capturing) formation in Go.

Her move names are also all taken from Go terminology.

I can't say much about other more detailed aspects as they might involve spoilers for concepts and story.

I just love Axel’s hair… It’s so poofy and curly and sparkly. It looks so edible like candy (do not attempt to eat it she keeps bugs in there )

I wish Felix was real so I could touch his floofy hair. I think my favorite thing about him is his face. He’s my only adult male character with a round face and I just want to squish it. His look kinda reminds me of my youngest brother who coincidentally shares his name.

Evangeline's scars are incredibly annoying to draw. I quite like the scars but the shapes are tedious to get used to. Sometimes I kinda just draw the lines however I want and ya know that's close enough. Her hair is also soooooo annoying. I have a brush for braids, but the top of her head just takes a bit. Plus the puffiness of her shirt sleeves can be a bit annoying. Suppose she is more annoying to draw than easy.

Anastasia on the other hand isn't too difficult to draw. her dress is probably the most tedious thing to draw. Lots of frills and ruffles, and for someone who has no experience drawing dresses, it has been kinda difficult. Plus doing a redesign can make things maybe a bit more interesting/less tedious.

Maybe her fake cat ears are made from the fur shed by her beastfolk companions? XD

Very trivial tidbits

Coloring my designs.
For example, this

He is white-themed in appearance, but have shade difference of tint of the "off-white" colours of his.
His hair is supposed to be orange tinted, his skin is pinkish, and his eye is greyish purple. Meanwhile, the outfits are "pure" white but is of different levels of darkness.

And the image further proof that in some methods rendition, it won't even show.
He also supposed to wear glasses, but I forgot to put it there.

Talking about color, I am pretty specific in my characters' hair, they may not be diverse but specific.

I really like those hair color chart that dye products provide. That's probably the root of my weird fascination.

Last but not least, world and lore related clothes and accessories and makeup

If not why I dedicate a colored sketch with lengthy explanation to draw more headdress and the same character with face done differently.

For me it is Alex's designs and outfits.



He is the type of person that puts in a lot of effort into achieving a proper appearance up to a certain point, with the occasional cracks in the facade, like the single strand of hair that always falls into the middle of the face, or the dark circle under his blood shot eyes to show that he’s actually way more of a mess on the inside. I also like how he basically has the same design as Rose, since they’re related, but also distinct enough that the reader will not confuse them.

for my non comic ocs - i like coro's rectangular/blocky shape, especially combined with her being short. built like a brick. i also enjoy drawing squishy and saggy bellies on characters, which applies to multiple. theres other non comic ocs who's designs i really like, but on the comic characters - for astrid, i really enjoy her nose and eyebrows, and skin colour combined with both her dyed hair and natural dark brown-black. chapter one isnt good at showing it, but i also enjoy drawing her body. squishy. a couple other comic fav designs - i really like leviticus's scars and hair and jewellery design, and emiryn's hair and scars. i just like scars, i think, lol. and in general - i like designing body shapes and hair the most

My favorite design (as of now) it's Casimiro's AKA the "Pirate".

I love his outfit. I always wanted to make a character with baggy pants. And for some reason I like the short sleeves over long sleeves look. Of course the skull motif he has is also great.

He's also more "cartoony" than the other characters I designed, which lets me go crazier with his poses (For example, ignoring joints and just making his arms curve). it's FUN to draw him.

The one detail about him I liked conceptually is his undershirt. I you noticed, there's a hole for his thumb. This is because the shirt is too big for him, but instead of shortening the sleeves, he just cut a hole for his thumb.
It's irrelevant to the story but it works for his character.

Well, he was named after his grandfather, who doesn’t look like my brother. His grandfather was named ironically (he has terrible luck and Felix means lucky)
And when I named him his design was different and he didn’t look like my brother. I didn’t change his design to look like my brother intentionally, but I suppose it could’ve been subconscious… It feels like that’s just the way things worked out lol.

I like Claudita's char design for simplicity and functionality (except the long hair. Long hair gives you a disadvantage in a fight lol).

And I had a lot of fun with Akala's various outfits

I am currently working on this wip of my antagonist oc Whitaker, I will probably do full body refs next!
I think the most favorite thing for me is doing the research for trying to get characters to look the most accurate to what I see them in my mind is like? I want to capture them in a way that is true to their character, even if that is physically , like facial features or scars, imperfections ect!!! (and making the little scratchy lines, which tickle my brain in my art style)

Maybe because of my artstyle, my character's body shape or faces are malleable to some degree (especially my story's protagonist) They can look cartoonic or more realistic based on the scene's mood & tone.

I always want my characters (mostly story characters) to have a specific 'look' that others don't (like in real life), so to tackle same-face syndrome. Personally I couldn't tell who's who even if their hair colors or skin colors changed (even wearing different outfits). If they share same face features I'll get confused XD

And also, I had a lot of triangle elements in my character design. Subconsciously I must be liking
