I'm a Christian (non-denomonational)

My parents wouldn't want me to draw demons too but 1.) Like you, I have no interest and 2.) If my story requires a demon, it's gonna get a demon.

Hot but fun. I did not expect Mexico of all places to get below 0 degrees. But worth it and fun. Make sure to do your best and leave no regrets when you go. ^_^

Atheist, raised by catholic parents. They never ever told me what to draw or what not, but I've always loved including angels and demons in my comics, as well as dealing with the concept of afterlife.

The only thing my parents did teach me was to "shut up" because if I said anything about not believing "the others would look at me weird", so that should say quite a lot about how religious they are in truth.

I'm a Pentecostal Christian. Our practice is a little different from other Protestants in that we believe in Baptism by spiritual fire, rather than water. And I have experienced my spiritual Baptism- it nearly knocked me on my butt it was so intense!

Unfortunately there is a sect of Pentecostals that give a bad impression to other Protestants- they perform rituals involving the improper handling of poisonous snakes around children (tempting God, as it were), so as a result I've had Baptists and Evangelicals give me dirty looks for being a Pentecostal. (We also believe in Speaking in Tongues, which I've also been accused of demon worship with...)

As for my own beliefs, I believe God gave humanity free will for a reason. I can disagree with the practices of my fellow man, but I certainly won't tell them what to do with their life. I also don't like to judge someone for a case of sinning, as it would be hypocritical of me. I'm no pure dove. On the other hand, it irritates me when someone tries to use verses out of the Bible to insult my religion. It's often out of context AND from Old Testament, which no Protestant follows anyway- not to mention mistranslated. I suppose that's fairly common with the internet though- no body checks their sources. XD

Agnostic atheist (ex-Catholic).

I think there are a lot of misconceptions about atheism (some that I used to share), even in this thread we can see how the whole "atheism vs agnosticism" discussion is going on. This is kind of why I felt the need to make the main character of my comic a proper (at least from my perspective) skeptic, as characters like this usually aren't written to my liking.

I would also like to add that while there is a difference between statements about knowledge and belief, when we talk about knowledge we usually don't mean absolute certainty. Knowledge is a belief that's been proven beyond reasonable doubt.
Like I know gravity exists. But I could be living in the Matrix. But the former seems much, much more likely than the latter.

I don't think that's how it goes. Any time someone says, I don't know if there is a God or not, that usually puts you in the agnostic bracket. Christians believe there is a God, Atheists believe otherwise. If they were wondering if there was a god or not, then their entire belief system breaks down.

Being affiliated with a religion doesn't make you a Christian. Religion is an organization (so it can be filled with believers or non-believers alike), but Christianity or Atheism is a belief apart from the religion (I don't have to be part of an organization to be considered a Christian or not.)

I'm sorry, but I really don't get what you mean by saying you don't think that's how it goes. Everything you wrote looks like it agrees with my quote.

Just to be clear, all I was saying is atheism and theism relates to what people actually believe with regards to the question, "Do you believe there is a god?", while agnosticsm deals with the separate, albeit related, concept of how much, if at all, anyone can know about the existence of a god or gods. That's what you were saying too, right?

One thing I will add though is I don't agree that Christians necessarily need to know there is a god in order to believe there's one. As far as I'm aware, the christian belief system doesn't require certainty (although a good many fundamentalists do claim that). I'm sure a lot of christians would classify their faith as a strong belief that's doesn't require, or is held in spite of a lack of complete certainty. (e.g., accepting the bible is true on faith, even without empirical evidence to support that stance).

I collect thoughts instead of beliefs, thoughts are easier to change if they no longer serve me.

Currently, I'm embracing the mindset of spirituality and we're all one. Energies, vibes, frequencies, tones, manifesting our own realities through changing the thoughts behind the thought. The rabbit hole runs deep.

Im Toast
But This bigotted site wont allow me to say that in less then 20 words

Hi! This is a nice thread you have going on here! It's always nice to see everyone's beliefs
My religion that I follow is Islam, which means I'm a Muslimah! (The female version of a Muslim!)
Assalamualaikum (peace be upon you) to any other Muslims who read this! blush

I'm a Anglican Christian. I am really, really, really Anglican. And no, Anglicanism was not started by King Henry VIII (just in case you were wondering). I do looooove reading about other religions, though.

Very interested what you mean by really, really, really Anglican. What does that entail exactly?

Well, this is good to know
