I collect microphones from the 1930s - 1940s

For some reason one day I got really obsessed with the Golden Age of Sail (so like ~1700 to ~1820), including things like Caribbean piracy and the Napoleonic war, particularly the ships and how they worked. It stuck with me for years and I, whose main passion is fantasy, eventually ended up writing a novel combining the two.

Thinking about it I blame the Pirates of the Caribbean movies for starting this off.

I like to gather fallen leaves to make compost, but not simply pick them up and putting them in my composter. My garden has mostly oaks, whose leaves take longer to decompose, so I put the leaves in a bucket and then I crunch them with my own hands (I mean I do wear gloves but my point is that I don't use any tool or machinery). It's kind of therapeutic, like a stress ball

Also I love everything about seasons. Like "24 seasons" in Japan, particular celebrations like Mid Autumn festival, the equinoxes and solstices; food and accessories and rituals related to those in different countries, etc.

Hmm... is old TV & tech considered an unusual interest? I need to specify the "old" period that interests me is from early 90s to late 2000s - so if it's from much earlier than when I was born, it's probably not interesting to me.

Given how quickly technology ages - yes, I think it can be considered old.
Some people are already considering Windows 7 "retro"... I think it's honestly a little ridiculous - I am writing this on a Win7 computer, and I don't plan to upgrade - but something like Windows XP is already very much "retro".
Kind of mindblowing, but 1990 was three decades ago At the time when I was born, the 1960s were three decades ago...

Whole leaf teas and teaware from around the world. Not THAT unusual, except that I am under 60 years old. Someday I want to run a teahouse and garden, where we grow tea and do community workshops on harvesting, processing and brewing it. I also want to learn every tea ceremony from every culture that has one (which is a LOT)

Oh yeah, he is. He has like, a ton of books, and scale models, and knows literally everything (well maybe not but almost)

I collect Metal band CDs. I love going into used music stores and searching through the CDs alphabetically one by one. I can spend hours doing that.

Also, I really enjoy going into Spotify and typing a random word into the search bar and then look at all the artists with that word in their name. I spend hours doing this, and have found so many epic bands that only have a handful of followers\listeners.
