What book made you love books?

Yeah, I've lurked in tapas for over a year now. Decided to make an account in the forums. I looked for a picture that signaled me. I'm a huge anime/manga fan and YYH is one of my favorite series of all time so I decided to use Kuwabara as my pic. Mostly, because he is a character I can relate to on many levels.

Besides novels I read a lot of comics be it web comics, manga, comics, ect.

YYH is one of my favorites too! I own it so sometimes I get in moods that I will just watch the series a couple of times before I'm satisfied.

Gulliver's Travels, if I'm to be honest. Adventure and finding unknown places has always been interesting to me. Though my favorite books at the moment are Six Of Crows and Carry On, Gulliver's Travels is what got me into books.

When I was seven my parents told me that if I read the first Harry Potter book all on my own they'd buy me a new bike. I'm relatively sure they did this only because they didn't think I was yet capable of reading a book that long on my own, so they wouldn't have to get me a new bike. Proved them wrong and read it in two days and promptly demanded my new bike, with an additional trip to the bookstore because I was now addicted.

When i was a wee lass, i looooved story books of all sorts! There were too many to remember but most of them were Dr. Seuss. That's how i fell in love with art, aside from watching cartoons. I was also a writer and made mini storybooks on folded sheets of paper and showed them to my classmates.
As far as I can remember, the first book I read that had no illustrations was Jurassic Park when I was 12. It was a beautiful experience. Sadly, the bookworm/writer in me is dead and I don't know if that part of me will come back.

There's a book called the Night Circus that I was really inspired by. The author wrote it as a Nanowrimo novel and also got an agent using the Nanowrimo resources she won. I always think if she can make so much from 87k words in 21 days I can try again tomorrow.

I've always liked books so I guess one that was read to me as a child? so maybe Black Beauty or the Noddy books those were common books that my dad read to me when I was a child.

Oh gosh, I have so many books that made me love to read, but if I were to choose, it would be the Space Odyssey Series by Arthur C. Clarke, The Time Machine by H.G. Wells, The Lord of The Rings Series, The Leviathan Series by Scott Westerfeld, and so on.

Yeah...I really LOVE to read.

I started reading since I was a tiny tot lol, I read so many books, but the book(s) had to be Lord of the Rings and of Anne of Green Gables in fourth grade.

My Mom used to read me children's books when I was little, so I credit her with teaching to to love books.
However if I were to pick a book that I read on my own it would have to be "The Hidden Staircase Mystery" (the first Nancy Drew mystery I'd ever read). I had already loved mystery novels before that, but I think this book unlocked more than a few genres for me, and my love for Nancy Drew eventually lead me to want to become a mystery writer! I ended up giving up on the mystery part, but I'm still passionate about writing, and that book and my Mom were what started it all~<3

That's a really hard question, but I'd say The Perfume by Suskind and The Hobbit. I loved the riddles and even learned them by heart, in french and in english!
Also Demi-Monde, the Harry Potter series (of course) and Narnia.
And more recently I fell in love again with Earth's Children by Jean M. Auel

Narnia was a big one for me when I was younger, though it's been so long I don't know if I remember everything! I was a pretty long and sad series.
