I also write novels and do regular illustration work, plus work in in retail.

I would never accept tapas coins as a payment for commission work. They are no way equivalent to real currency and the way they add up makes it seem like they're worth A LOT more than they actually are. For a profile portrait that would be used as advertising across multiple social media my prices…

Just curious! I recently had a panel featuring a close-up on a bookshelf so I featured a handful of titles of comics and novels by my readers. It was really fun to see how excited everyone got about it.

Maggie Stiefvater's "All the Crooked Saints." Her ability to evoke emotions and describe feelings is stunning in that book.

I'm Katy, an author and artist out of Colorado. My comic is about two grumpy mountain people begrudgingly falling in love with one another and robbing trains together. As you do.

I think I've gotten a lot better with my use of color, my ability to stay on schedule, and my ability to keep good records.

I've been gaining subscribers at a very steady rate. Just started posting my comic a couple months ago, one page a week, and I'm already at 124.

Honestly, my biggest struggle is finding time and keeping up with pages so I don't fall behind with updates. It's very hard being a webcomic creator when you've got a day job and lots of other projects going on.

You're giving us a framework, but you need to add some details to that framework. Give us all five senses. Do the books smell old? Is the room musty? What's the lighting like? Do the character's footsteps echo or are they muffled by carpet? Is there a taste to the air? Is the wood of the railing wea…

Thank you! I'm glad you like it.

Hey everyone! I'm only 4 away from 100 and I've been hovering there for a couple weeks, even with regular updates, so I'm gonna do something special to help get to 100. As soon as I get there, I'll post a special updates with photos from the real locations featured in the comic, and maybe even a map…

Yes! I love hearing from longtime fans.

That very much counts. Those sorts of comments are delightful.

Wow! That is a freaking FANTASTIC comment to get.

The first nice comments always stick well, even if they're short! I love when people tell me I've made them have a really emotional reaction.

What's the nicest comment you've ever gotten on your work? The one that really sticks with you for whatever reason. I just posted today about the fact I'll be tabling at Denver Comic Con next month, with a special edition preview of my comic with some exclusive bonus illustrations, and someone com…

Sounds awesome! I'd love to collaborate on this. You can view my current comic at the link below, and more of my work on my website. My e-mail is contact@Katy-L-Wood.com

Hello, everyone! I'm an asexual author and artist out of Colorado. I mostly write novels and do short story comics, but the only project I'm posting on here at the moment is a graphic novel. I will have some other novel novels eventually, though! My current comic on here is Gunpowder & Pine, and …

Redbubble is a good way to get a little bit of income off your art, yes, but I want to emphasise that it is a LITTLE bit. They take a rather large chunk. It is a nice passive income, though, because once you upload your art on it you don't have to do anything else (aside from advertising your shop). …

I'll check yours out when I get home from work!

Both main characters in mine are ace! The comic about how they met and started robbing trains together. It will be stated on page that they're asexual, but that likely won't be until part 2.

Anywhere from a day to three days depending on the level of detail in it.

When I was seven my parents told me that if I read the first Harry Potter book all on my own they'd buy me a new bike. I'm relatively sure they did this only because they didn't think I was yet capable of reading a book that long on my own, so they wouldn't have to get me a new bike. Proved them wro…

I would be in Colorado or the Yukon or London England. Depends which part of the book I'm in.

Usually I find one weird little detail and just poke at it until I find a story. Like, "what would happen if the gods took fire BACK in modern times?" How would people react? How would that change society? What else would go away because its roots could be traced back to fire? Then I poke at it unti…

Here's mine! I'm probably gonna be adding some tiers here soon, but I wanna keep it relatively basic for right now so it doesn't become a burden:

I don't yet, but I will soon! I'll have some comics and some novels. Right now the only one I have is this one:

This is mine. Just started posting (on here) a couple days ago.

I'll definitely check yours out! This is mine:
