What do you feel bout moving all promo threads to the "Collaboration" category?

Hmmm i'm not sure since moving them to that category doesn't really make sense, but these kind of threads do need a timer to close them. To prevent them from being revived years later once they are dead.

Is it really collaboration though? Most of the time the amount of clicks on a link I see can be counted on your hands, and even then you won't use most of your fingers

Me could argue that it counts as collaboration, but really, me want to have the option to mute all promo threads.

I feel this. I don't want to mute the collab section, because I see some interesting stuff from time to time, but I'd love to just mute all the promo threads at once. The mods made a promo thread if I recall correctly so people would stop making them but...

Yeah, but that just delegate whack-a-mole problem to the mods. @skicoak proposed giving collab threads their own category -- so newbies could gravitate to it -- but it seem simpler to just repurpose pre-existing category that a lot of people mute anyway.

Doesn't really make sense to me. Promo threads aren't really collaboration in any sense- advertising or solicitation are more so the words that come to mind lol. I think if anything making a specific category for them would be more sensible (or if they were to relabel it as Promotions/Collaborations) but... as is they don't bother me much so I don't mind scrolling past them. YMMV though

I think what we're seeing more of ...after the average promo thread fell out of public favor... is cats starting a thread like its a question/statement then says "I'll start..." then promoting their comic.

I understand it. I want to promote my comic too!... but if you've been here long enough you start to see that those thread clicker counters hardly ever get out of the single digits. We're all panhandling in the poor part of town​.

To be fair, I like reading the more fun promo threads. I may not click through to read the comic or something, but I do heartily enjoy the thought and effort that will go into some of these. HOWEVER promo threads should never ever be put into "Collab" category. They are not collabs and they are not asking to collab. They should all be moved to that parent "shoutout" category instead of the "Art|Writing".

It sounds like an interesting idea, but I imagine in practice it'll be very wonky.
