What do you for a living aside from doing comics?

I'm currently in college, and it's hard to divide the time between studying, doing comics, other hobbies, and simply procrastinating.

I'm currently in uni, majoring in chemistry c: but as for job, I get paid for drawing colouring books and memory games for kids from time to time : D It's quite hard to go with those two and also comics, but somehow I can manage, even having a bit of social life CX

Because I'm a dependant, I don't really have an official job yet (though I'm planning to get a temporary job this summer), so the only thing I'm doing besides my art is schoolwork for graduation (I'm in 11th grade BTW).

It's difficult to find a decent balance between making two comics, doing homework, eating, sleeping, and anything else.

I work for an entrepreneur, almost full time every day. I get orders from Amazon and emails for certain items, mainly foreign DVDs and homeschool materials, package them in envelopes or boxes and send them out to customers. On the side I do the same by selling video games and odd books off of Amazon for paying bills.

Soon I'll be a part of a content creating channel, a sort of multi-media company, dealing with everything from music to gaming, from comic making (here) and writing. I'm mostly in charge of the art, making thumbnails and the online banners, but I also put work in the writing.

I'm currently reading contemporary art and philosophy at university. I love art and it's a huge interest of mine for a long time.

I proofread Japanese to English translations for video games. Working in the games industry isn't easy or stable employment, but I love what I do and I work with some really great people.

I get my comics done in breaks and at lunch, after work and at weekends. It usually works out, but when a project hits crunch time it can be difficult to make time for drawing. I don't have much of a social life, and when I do meet with friends or family it becomes very difficult to get my comic pages done on time.

I make lenses for eyeglasses :v not much more to say bout that. You pop out the demo lenses and put the prescription in the material then edge it to fi the frames ^^

I do online art commissions for money. Its kind of crazy. Some times I wonder if I should get a job flipping burgers or putting things on shelves. But I think I'm making just as much if I had one of those jobs so why switch?

In addition to working on comics. I'm lucky enough that I get to teach anime, manga and graphic novel art to kids. The pay isn't insane but it does give me joy.

I work for a non-profit as a Web Content Manager. I got the experience for my current job while doing webcomics for the last decade. It's fun and I get to do a lot of training that also helps me in my webcomics business as well.

Right now, not much - I'm kind of between jobs.

But when I do have work, I am a freelance illustrator/comic artist. I've worked illustrating textbooks, doing covers for self-published nobels, I've had comics published in a couple of magazines and anthologies, I've done character/creature/environment illustrations for a game that's in development (it's in beta right now), etc., etc. I sell paintings when I can - acrylic and watercolour, mostly - and so on.

In between the times when those jobs come along, I'm trying to lure people into backing me on Patreon (my backers get early access to Grassblades-pages - always being two pages ahead of regular readers - as well as access to my sketches, works in progress and concept art, and backers on higher tiers get PDFs of about 350 pages of other comics I've done).

It's difficult getting any sort of career off the ground, and work has been pretty irregular, but I'm working on it! ... Know anyone who needs anything drawn?

I work in a factory as a slave XD I'm in 3 time shift and kinda work all time :/ I wanna find a better job, but it's hard especially because I'm not a talkative person, and most workplace search for such people -.-;
I worked in a digital press before as a graphic designer, but I got fired. I'm not sure I wanna get such a job again, but I feel I'm not good at anything at all, so I just try to find something like that... ^^;

I am a purchasing assistant in the head office of a B.C. Chain of art stores. I went to school to be an animator but I got really tired of ever studio I worked at shutting down after each contract and chasing the next one I sort of settled for the 9-5 job.
Conventions and doing tutorials for Copic Pay for my art supplies and comic printing costs.

So comic creators are EVERYWHERE... (Suspicious look all around)

I personally work in hotels, in customer service mostly.
I usually draw Shades Of Men during lunch break or on the bus going to work.
I work on an iPad so it's very convenient on the go!

I have a "full time" wife at home so no comic creating while she's around. (For everyone's sake)
My schedule is pretty tight but all these ideas must find a way out. Every minute helps...

I had a whole lot of time ever since I stopped video games!

I know stuff has to get into those boxes, but I never really thought about how it was done

I used to work as a barista, making coffee for people in the morning = saving lives of many But it was a big strain on my body and mind to get up at 4 in the morning, work 'til 1 in the afternoon and then expect to have the energy to make some more work, work that includes thinking and creating. So my process has been quite slow, I'm afraid but damn can I sell stuff at cons!

Currently I'm drawing all day, every day, unless I'm going to a school or a library to do workshops in making comics. The kids there are the best, but I could never pull off being a teacher, not with comics on the side, because it's a lot of work! It's fun, though, getting out of the office to meet the people who are hopefully going to be your faithful audience.

I hope to be able to have some sort of income on the actual comics I make, there are Kalle Hizz here on Tapastic and I recently started off my Patreon project with another comic Zak & Ting. where I don't only offer the comic itself, but something I'm really good at: drawing lessons So if there's someone who wants you to teach them how to draw but you just think they're annoying, send them to me :* I'm also on Comixology with Kalle Hizz as a detective Just a couple days ago I got the green light for a second detective story feat. Kalle Hizz, yay!

I'm an illustrator, mostly doing drawings for people. It doesn't really pay for now, but I don't abandon it. I'm taking my comic more and more seriously, opened a Patreon for it and everything. I trust this project !
Aside from this, I'm working with children from 6 to 10 years old and teach them drawing for one hour in the week at their school, then do another job with children to make them study after school for one hour. I don't even have a special bond with children, but I'm happy to work with them.
