Just so you know, there is and english version of online Weekly JUMP :'D it might be available to USA only tho? in which case, yeah, damn. i hear it's p cheap and they update at most a week later than jap version (maybe. im not checking).
mangastream are ok, tho i've also seen that tho they write a lot abt how meticulous their tranlsation work is, i later find a Tokyo Ghoul fan making a post where they correct their work and talk about the lost meanings and such. the good thing about them, i guess, is that they don't host all the chapters so they're less likely to be shut down.
official translations have gotten a lot better! since people have proven to understand the unique aspects of japan pretty well, there isnt as much need to "hide" that culture. i like buying official english volumes =v= i still have complaints sometimes though when i have fallen for how a fan translation phrased a line or something tho.
i think the two can co-exist.
the one thing i despise is that we get raws earlier than they're out in japanese stores... so we get updates sooner than japan on some series. that means english fans who're ignorant of this can do something stupid like tweet panels at each other, the author and in the tag... bringing attention to piracy more than necessary... and making it a problem because some japanese fans stumble upon them (particularly there have been fans who tweeted edits at Ishida Sui... he was chill about it but yea he said not to do that). the info about it is buried in various paragraphs on a disclaimer page at the end that no one, including me, reads.
