It's just satisfying to get right, plus... you get an excuse for using a whole bunch of different colors.

And thank you! Though I hope the candy-craving thing is not too bad! You're right though, everything's so reflective, it looks like lollypops, haha. I never noticed.

@gmaximin Those are weirdly satisfying to look at, and I can't tell if I would want them on wallpaper or not. I feel like they'd be really cool patterns to get lost in right up until you woke up from a bad dream or something.

@Lilmonstart Yay for character design. I think we all have a little bit of that. I wish I could design more elaborate (read: impractical) costumes, but the cosplayer in me will not allow it. Also, I agree-- sometimes drawing blood is fun. (Double meaning 100% intended.)

@Mallory As long as I have gummy worms or something handy, I'm fine. But I dare you to not think about hard candies now, when you're coloring the next page. <3

I have a love/hate/love relationship with the thing I have to draw the most, sports scenes.
My main webcomic is about hockey, so I have to draw it a lot and my notions of perspective suck so it's quite challenging. Whenever I have to draw another game thing it's like OH GOD HERE WE GO AGAIN!

However, the satisfaction of seeing it done pays off all the efforts and stress. It's a... I made it! It's alive!

Situationally - moments of high emotion, such as fear, grief or love. I really like being able to push character expressions that way!

@PortiaV8 I love how those very simple pencil cartoons have so, so much personality to them. The wizard is like 12 lines and 3-4 colors, and you can tell he is So Done With This BS.

@Kelheor Aaaaaah, I love your colors. They're so saturated. I especially love the dappled shade one-- that's hard!

@Kaydreamer High emotion is such a fun thing to draw. I'm constantly on the lookout for good, genuine reference of intense expressions. (I prefer people actually being caught in the moment, rather than staged/stock photos of intense expressions-- they feel much, much more genuine.)

Animals! I love drawing animals a ton! Especially wolves and lions! My art style is also heavily influenced by Disney since I grew up watching it, and I spent most of my time drawing fanart for The Lion King. Because of that even my lion characters are influenced by that style.
