So, playing off of this thread here

I was wondering what you think the theme of OTHER people's work is?

So rules umm... you can comment about as many works as you like, you may post your work, and the author can choose not to tell you what the theme is if they are worried about spoilers. You can ask others why they think that (citing sources is important after all!)

I'll do someone's in a bit. but for now... anyone want to tell me what themes they see in mine?

so ive only read up to out of the blue, but im feeling themes of conflict of course, and i think 'we help everyone' is at least your protagonists thesis statement, if not the thesis statement of the story. the talking abt ppl 'buying' her makes me wonder if theres gonna be like, themes of capitalism in relation to war and belonging, maybe.

but it looks to me like the main theme is gonna be unity in the face of division.

now someone do me!!

I just read the first 20 pages of ‘Hue Are You’ - nice comic! The theme that stands out the most so far is that of alienation, self-imposed and the sort we impose on others. How it corrupts, narrows our views, and causes more trouble than it is worth, even if it feels like you’re using it to create an ‘in-group’ to stay safe.

(Also, thank you for quoting my original post! :))

Wow! I never saw the writing having those sorts of themes. But it certainly does fit.

@punkarsenic Capitalism is def related to what's going on for sure.

And now I'm gonna have to spend some time reading "there was war". Gimme some time ok?

hahaha, take all the time you need. i realise its pretty long

@Rodimus13 I think that the themes of your comics are creation and meaninglessness of wars.
@punkarsenic I'll tell when I'll read your comics (tomorrow, I hope).

@punkarsenic ok I made it through the WHOLE THING

I think your themes are trust in others, learning to understand, adults ain't always right

Well I think the most clear theme in your comic is survival, but that's too obvious given it even says so right in the description. But also people learning about how other people's minds work. Vocabulary isn't my strong point so maybe there's a better word for that.

So survival, people coping skills, emoting in general, empathy, self-destruction, capitalism.

This is tougher than it seems...

Here is mine:

@Rodimus13 i think the theme of your story is like post apocalypse, the meaning of being a useful part of society

i really need to get back to reading @Cavechan's comic and i'll probably have something to say when i'm done

and heres mine

Ohh, now this is an interesting thread! Themes are what I live for! I'll try to check out some of the comics in this thread later when I have more time. Now I have to finish my Swedish homework unfortunately... (Hjälpa mig, jag förstår ingenting!)

Here's mine, in case anyone's interested. It is infested with themes but it's always interesting to see how others interpret them.

From what I've read of the first few chapters of Hue, I'm getting some heavy themes of isolation, loneliness, despair (especially waking up in a broken down grey factory) and issues of being neutral between two opposing dichotomies. I also get a hint of perseverance as the robot does their job despite their surroundings.

I've got my comic "Light and Dark" if anyone wants to take a crack at deciphering themes within, be it some I've intentionally woven in or didn't even realize where there:

@punkarsenic I've read the description and approximately the first quarter of your comics. From what I've seen up to now...
I've noticed the themes of xenofobia, loneliness and how love overcomes it. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

yeah, that covers it!

holy FUCK you work fast. i like this interpretation - adults arent always right isnt smth id thought to apply to twaw, but im pretty influenced by a series of unfortunate events, so that makes sense haha

I can speed read, I just needed some mommy time to do so. And I got it
