What does Webtoon consider Mature/offensive language or content?

Hey, so new comic creator here. So I have several scenes planned out in my comic, and am currently worried about Webtoons and what it considers mature content and strong language.

So far some of the language used so far-

ex:

Shit!
Bastard
Hell
Asshole

There are some scenes where a character or characters are killed and while not extremely gorey are still dark.

I don't want to have to censor content, but I want to avoid certain phrases and scenes that may cross the line, just in case for future episodes.

If anyone has experience or knows the answer to this. It would help greatly. And I am curious what draws the line with webtoons. What goes too far?

So this is the specific part of the policy that deals with sex and violence. Note that if you want to be eligible for their revenue program, the guidelines are stricter.

That type of generic profanity should be fine anywhere with a Teen plus rating.
It's slurs targeted at specific groups of people one has to be mindful of and context comes into play in that instance.

No sex or nudity in my comic so I don't think i will have to worry about that part of policy. I always got the impression that webtoon was more meant for an older teen audience and that they would be fine will a bit of swearing and violence as long as it wasn't too extreme. I just wanted to be sure though. Censoring scenes or words may put a dent in the storytelling and as a reader myself I always am sad to see comics being extremely censored to the point where the story is affected.

I'm not actually sure, I remember someone called out Webtoon for featuring a comic with explicit sex scenes. As for ad-revenue, I have no clue but I'm sure other folks on forums know. (:

The ad-revenue program is through Google Ad Sense, and the policies are very strict. However, that doesn't mean they'll be enforced strictly, so we're all just kind of waiting to see how the first round goes. Several creators of mature content applied, and are being reviewed. They're talking about it here so you can check it out. Kind of a wait and see situation at the moment.

i had the same question before i started posting there, so i wrote them an email. the answer i got was:

Hmm kinda sounds vague. I wish they gave clear cut guidelines to what they consider mature/offensive, just so I don't have to play a guessing game of what is acceptable or not.

Honestly, those curse words I don''t see a problem with. Also, a good guide line that I use is actually here from Tapas: Would you show your parents this? If no, it's mature. Y'know, plus/minus depending on how strict/loose your parents are, but it's a good rule of thumb I think

I think something counts as needing a mature filter if it does have on screen deaths, harsh language and other adult themes like sexual, excessive violence and such. I would put the filters on just to be safe.

Oh boy, well my parents do read my comic soo...

Honestly the language is something that would be so so for them. Same with violence. But it is not really used too much, so if they can handle it I really think its fine.

I created my own platform to upload comics and manga, but I don´t know what kind of content can be shown in order to now violate google or apple policies, does someone can help me?
