@Kelheor - wow your sheets are kind of inspiring, and terrifying. how can you keep track of anything without at least 5 other colors?!

@WriterLinXiaolong - to be fair, my schedule is about as simple as that. only...more.

I tend to try to write at least once a week, and more when I have inspiration. I suffer from a lot of procrastination and apparently can't form a habit. I literally could stop eating cheerios every morning when I wake up tomorrow - and I've been doing that every day for 5 years.
I keep wanting to buy a bunch of stickers and a calendar so each day I write or draw (since I don't do comics, but drawing helps relax me too) I can stick lil cute stickers on the day. That's the idea anyway. Still no calendar.

Phahah, well, I just kept track of the amount of hours I am drawing, also there were different colours for deadlines and the side works like cover art  Without this kind of sheet I just couldn't do what had to be done in time. Now it kinda became better, so I hope I will be okay without at least 5 other colours :joy:

Your lines don't even have alternating colors omg. Though keeping a timer is a good idea. Some of my better writing is done in 15min spurts over a day - lots of NaNo stuff is done that way. I actually enjoy writing for a long period of time, drawing, too. But that's also when plots uh, jump ship? And fly off the rails, so to speak. Again, my NaNo's are proof of this chaos at work.

I just tend to procrastinate a lot, and it really helps when you see that you only made 2 hours of drawing today and the deadline is nigh  I think it's a bit different for writing(?), but the timer definitely can help with finishing job in time.

Weeeeeeell

My writing schedule says that I put 8-10 hours aside for writing a day. But then the procrastination kicks in, and I end up maybe writing 2-5 hours.

I do, however, release a chapter a day on my webnovel (around 1000 words)

I just...draw whenever I have free time. Like almost every spare moment. I mean, I do other things, but if I'm not doing other things, I draw

For me it's no rules, no order, only chaos! Yeah...no schedule other than I have to get two pages done a month.

I need to get a better schedule. I try to write about 250 words a day (well I'm going to now) and also draw about an hour each day. Unfortunately, I haven't had a set time or planner and sadly don't have an office space (yet) conducive for a physical planner that I can put on a wall.

I WILL HAVE MY DREAM OFFICE SPACE ONE DAY DAMMIT!

Lol, they do now that you mention it XD. Erick is one of the most heinous characters I've ever created He's all about the chaos.

My schedule is determined by when I release new chapters for a project:

OMF: one chapter daily (around 1k)
OMF-R: one chapter daily (around 1k - this is the revised version of OMF so I don't always have to write new chapters, some days it really will just be a revision where I go over an old chapter and pretty it up)
LWS: editing a chapter a day
RMN: one chapter on Tuesday and one chapter on Thursday (around 1k)
MYMMP: one chapter on Monday, Wednesday and Friday (somewhere between 1.5 and 2.5k)
Finders Keepers: one chapter on Saturday (somwhere between 3k to 4.5k)
RSH: one chapter on Sunday (1.5 to 2k)

I try to have a small stockpile for all of them so I normally write a chapter the day another one comes out. When I'm fast with one, I try to do the next one already so that I can add to my stockpile

WOw~! you guys are so organize~! I don't have even have that kind of thing~! But I'm going to try it myself I think it's look so professional and nice~ Thank you for sharing ^_^

I don't have anything professional like that either! I need to have something like that somewhere!

Hahaha, we are like the polar opposite of one another xD
We'll if it works it works ~

@KRWilliams Oh, you put "Freedom" and "Must Promote" on there. That's smart I'm gonna incorporate that to my routine for sure! Thank you

@WriterLinXiaolong I see you are putting effort into your workout! There will be a time when I'll get to that as well ~
Looking GOOD!

@punkarsenic I like that you work in so short intervals, that's why I really like working during the morning because I can't help but go overtime. Night just isn't as great.

@mariusthered Planing out the next day is really good because you get a head-start and hit the ground running! I'm taking notes ~ Thank you

My schedule is a little more loose than I really would like. I need to tighten it up, since I’m adding more and more projects. But generally:

Sun: Write, post, comment, melt into pile of goo, game night.
Mon: Write, post, comment, chores, gym
Tues: Write, post, comment, ANYTHING ELSE that I need to do or want to do, the rest of the day is MINE
Wed: Write, post, comment, chores, gym
Thurs: Write, post, comment, chores, Brooklyn 99/dinner with friends
Fri: Write, post, comment, chores, gym
Sat: Write post, comment, melt into pile of goo

There are times when ‘chores’ turns into ‘stare at YouTube’. ...More often than I would like XD Also, as a substitute teacher, sometimes that schedule gets thrown way off if I have a job.

I LIKE seeing people’s schedules, though! How they’re organized, what they list. This is inspiring!

Not set in stone- n the weekdays(Mon-Thurs) I'll probably work on comic pages for 3 hrs tops, then hop in the bed so that I can get enough sleep to function at my day job the next morning.

On Fridays I'll work as late as I can before I crash- usually I'm watching a movie while working on stuff...Saturdays, I'll A) start working on pages mid afternoon & then take an early evening break to get things done or B) start in the evening after I get chores/errands done. I almost always work late on Saturday night and end up crawling into bed in the wee hrs of the morning.

Sundays I start in the afternoon, but I usually cut it off a little early to get myself in "day job work week" mode; the only times that I will work a little later on Sunday is if I have a page that I have to finish.

My dayjob does prevent me from having a stable schedule, since I do not work the same weekdays every week. In theory I work 4 days a week, so I try to have one of my free days for relaxing, running errands and all that, maybe another for meeting with friends and the rest of my free days for drawing. I only do one page a week so it is doable.

I tend to draw around 5 hours on a free day (which is enough to get the linework and the color for one page done). I do the scanning, the digital editing, the lettering and the scheduled updates mostly on workdays. I have to be at my job at 2pm, so I do have enough time before to get some things done. Sometimes I draw before work as well, when I get out of bed on time. ^^

When I do have more free days or a vacation I try to draw much more though. The day of the update (Monday) tends to sneak up on me, so I try to draw ahead when I can. Not that I actually manage to do that all that often. :stuck_out_tongue:

That's some hustling you got! 1000 words a day sound like a lot!
Are you working in intervals? It's actually productive to take breaks.
I usually try to do 30 minutes of work and then a 10-minute break. Rinse and repeat ~

Maybe that could help your focus. When the timer is ticking down you know it's writing time.

@dragonsparking That sounds scary to me : S
I need that order like I need oxygen but I guess it's the other way around for you ~

@amcodamonkey I think a whiteboard to write what you want done each day is a great start. It doesn't even have to be one of those big ones you put on your wall. Just taking a step forward is always a good investment : >

@ghostmaya WOW! You have accumulated such a strong following without a schedule!? I am very impressed O.O
Teach me your ways oh great one ~

Yikes, I'm kinda glad I consider myself more of a "hobbyist" now... :grimacing:

Normally I only "work" on days I'm not at my day job, the schedule being: draw on Thursdays (if grandma can actually take the kiddo to her house) and try to get most of the strip done, then if I still have stuff left over I try to finish up coloring and backgrounds on Friday, then do all the thumbnails and previews and Instagram stuff and schedule the upload for Saturday. Basically I get two days a week where I'm allowed to hide in my bedroom and crank out dumb jokes about pizza. Not sure if I'll get much done today, Grandma couldn't take the little one so I'm sure I'll get a lot of "backseat arting" later on. "Are you going to make that green? You should make that green." She's adorable but she's got some years to go before she'll make a decent assistant. :nerd:
