I'd visit my parents during the height of the pandemic, but I had to stay 6 feet away from them and I'd be in their front yard at all times. They missed me so much and we're big huggers in my family, so my parents hugged my very dirty car instead, because it was the closest they could get to actually hugging me. They were not clean when they eventually peeled off of it.
And because of the pandemic, we had to move forward with our future plans for our department because it got so busy it was completely unmanageable. At my job I did both web design and shipping/customer service for online orders. I was the only one who did both and I had shifts from Monday to Sunday and could work until 9pm, because the physical stores were open that late and I'd sometimes get two days off in a row. But, during the pandemic, graphics needed me full-time, but online orders also needed me full-time, so they hired new people on the customer service side because it got insanely busy and I am now I'm a full-time graphic designer who only works Monday to Friday from 8-5. I'm loving every single second of it.
It's funny because if it weren't for the pandemic, I would have done both jobs for at least until 2025. I now have the dream shift I've never had in my 15 years as a working artist. I'm over the moon.
