I recently spent a few and got myself a few indie titles from the eShop. I didn't realize the two I'd play first would be difficult in their own ways.. Phoenotopia: Awakening and Blasphemous have been taking up an awful lot of my playtime lately~
Newgrounds fans might remember this one.. it's a full-blown remake of the flash game. Just straight up- I'm not finished with it, but this game is a solid 9/10. What stops me from giving it a full 10 is the difficulty spikes.. sometimes it feels fair, other times it feels unforgiving. Outside of that, it's just so fun to explore the world and collect stuff. Music is just.. ugh, lots of bangers. Pro tip: get the fishing rod early, you'll save time and earn money faster.
And.. on a much darker note. This game is sorta similar lmao Blasphemous is also an action platformer, but it's described as a sidescroller Dark Souls. Funny enough, this doesn't feel as hard as Phoenotopia: Awakening, but it definitely has more intimidating atmosphere. I never seen so many rooms with threatening boss fight vibes just turn up without any enemies Anyways, there's just as much exploration and collecting in this. Lots of violently religious themes so if you're not into that umm.. yeah, maybe skip this one lol
Also been playing Sky daily and grinding for candles, nothing new there lmao
