What if your story was “Disneyfied”?

I know this is kind of stupid but really it’s just something that’s been on my mind.

What if your story was Disneyfied?

For mine I’m going to have two versions if Disney had hold of my stories one for best case scenario and one for worst case scenario.

I want to see yours! I’m going to do two of my stories Cracking Eggs and Elsie.

Disney Cracking Eggs: Best case scenario

• They’ll have all the characters break out into song and it tells the story.
• They keep Winston and Eric gay (please!)
• It will just be like a Disney Renaissance film.
• Benedict Ovum will be a great villain with a perfect plan

Really there’s no like best case or worse case here because Disney will do it now for worst case scenario.

Worst case scenario

• They will have Eric and Winston straight
• Eric would probably be the villain
• Jack will look like Prince Hans
• Breaking out into song for no reason
• Meta humor (why do they do this now I’m sick of it)
• Singing eggs! (WHHHHHYYYYY!?)
• Wellington is a wizard like bruh
• Pujita is… ahhhh aaaahhh… reduced to exoticism and overtly sexualized BLEH!! NO NO NO NO NO!
• Benedict Ovum is a one dimensional villain and his followers are not murderous and threatening

Okay okay now the part where I actually wanted to get to!

Elsie as a Disney movie

Best case scenario

• Elsie is a strong character with goals
• She sings an I want song
• Her motivation is not by romance but it is for her friends
• Roy has a beautiful singing voice
• She develops a romance with Roy but has to balance her hero work
• Ernest McDermott is a badass villain with all the wit and pipes of any Disney villain
• And of course a clear motivation and plan
• He has a killer villain song
• Elsie struggles with living normal and being there to help people as a superhero

Actually this is what I want for my story (minus the musical numbers) and make it more ummmm not magical

I’m not going to give it a worst case scenario.

Anyway… let’s hear your story if it was Disney’s adaptation!

Mine would be about 1 minute long, after they took out the blood, gore, murder, and adult themes and most of the violence and crime.

Trying to work out which one character would get to be the latest "first gay Disney character!" in a cast where nobody is straight and how they'd deal with white lady protag being obviously attracted to a Punjabi man and a Japanese lady or what to do about the only "princess" in the story being an autistic nonbinary goth who talks like a Disney villain is breaking my brain.

Ah yes, everyone's new favourite Disney Princess. Jules.

You can just imagine them as a nice doll with brushable hair hanging out with Ariel and Cinderella, can't you?

On the other hand... Owl House is technically Disney, so maybe it'd be okay if it was handled like one of their TV series rather than a movie?

I wouldn't mind it being a musical though. That could work.

Amelie is now a princess who is secretly in love with Adam
Ursa gets reformed into a hero
Rachel is now the comic relief, and any reference to her religion is removed because there's no way that Disney would allow a jewish protagonist in their films.
Amelie is now straight. So is Rachel
There's a random song every 5 minutes
Amelie has a pet gargoyle that can easily be turned into marketable plush toys

Hahaha I love it! Yeah it really racks my brain too because my works are obviously not having Disney in mind at all. it’s my own stuff so it’s not made for a certain brand

Let’s hope eventually they will have a Jewish protagonist. I know there have been Jewish characters in their shows. A character from Elena of Avalor, Isabella Garcia-Shapiro from Phineas and Ferb, she’s Mexican Jewish and is a main character and Ron Stoppable from Kim Possible and he’s awesome!

There was a time where working for Disney was my dream, but what it has become disgusts me. So yeah. I would rather never be discovered.

Yes 100% nope for me either which is why I’m doing this.

Also fair now as much as it was part of my childhood I grew up and grew to know them as a greedy company. Plus their history with racial stereotypes and caricatures has gotten more noticeable as I got older in their older work.

Well there’s so many things wrong with it but it’s also nostalgic for me too. I have a love hate relationship with Disney doesn’t everyone?

I think Disney's best bet is would be to get bought out and changed. Disney was never perfect, but at least it tried to be good. However, it has not gotten better and reducing inclusion to a checklist and selling point is just low.

I mean I love so many movies from this company but nowadays there is not that many that impacted me until Encanto but that’s it. I think Disney is heading into another dark age and Dreamworks is actually putting stuff out there that’s actually good! Have you seen the new Puss and Boots movie?! It’s amazingly done! The animation is amazing the story is incredible the villain is well not really a villain I’m not gonna say it anymore I don’t want to spoil it

One thing i like about classic Disney movies is the characters can come out musical numbers (songs) through any means. Maor could sing his sadness out like Mulan's "Reflection".

I could imagine my story working as a disney show. Rumey would be a teen instead of an adult. He would be less villainous. Instead of Rumey's main motivation of using the cursed wishes to make money, he would use it to help people in horrible ways, him, his bro, and Xiz. He'd also have a love interest of course. It could be a lot of fun, less violence and death though. I kinda wanna right this version now...

Honestly I feel cut out the ero-guro elements... not even keep the milder subtext . Age down quite a alot of the cast from ambigiously 20-30 to late teens. At best an even more PG-rated version of Be More chill. Two guys who are ambigiously queer and ambiguously mentally ill in a bromance. Loukas hunger would probably wouldn't be so prevalent. Very much not a problem "cus he's stronger than that"

Make Hide less a traumatized distater and more hyper manic pixie dream guy to get Loukas out of shell... So technically the similar to the main plot, in a strange way.

At worst an attempt to dampen the ambigiously queer part by forcing a m/f love triangle romance... make all my intentionally unhealthy and purposefully toxic relationships and try present them as actually healthy missing the whole point. Xander being portrayed as good friend scares me more than anything
