What Inspired You Make Your Own Comic?

I was inspired when my family died and ended up alone, I decided to make a dream come true. I'll complete my story with full effort . I'm inspired by Sailor Moon,Final fantasy and Nobuo Uematsu.

What inspired me to make my own comics is that, i want to have a way for my stories to not be in my head anymore, i want them to be something i can physically read for myself and be able to physically share with others instead of just talking about it and hoping that people will get into and like it. I think doing a comic is a great way to get your idea from your head on to paper and get a chance to be risky with it. having an cartoon is great but you are more restricted for what you can show on television and with animated movies you are restricted with how long you want to spend on a characters development. i think that comics are prefect for taking your time with the characters you spend years sculpting and creating and you can make is any type of genre you want.

Its was more of a sudden burst of the want to write my comic, I was a junior in high school and it was late in the afternoon i grabbed a pencil and paper and just drew an early version of Simon Nero. From there i learned about G pens, copic markers, and the webcomics.

Well for me I was really into Disney, cartoons, and fantasy as a child. Later on in middle school and high school I discovered Japanese styled comics and anime. Both were really cool in different unique ways, however recently there was a decline in what I like to call the "MAGIC" in both. Somewhere down the line I feel that, that key element was lost. That's ultimately what inspired me to pick up the "pen and pad" so to speak, to try and bring back said "magic" if I can at least

Well funny enough for one of my series I Can Be A Princess was inspired by Adventure Time, but also because a friend of mine would often call me a Princess...then joke I could never be one. So I showed him!...r-right..?

Another series I worked with Life can Succubus was inspired by the fact I am asexual and a bit afraid of any physical closeness with people which was kind of my humoring outlet on that strange Alienation.

Machine was a project I was just about manic in creating. It was created after a project I had been on working on that ended with " I feel Mechanical, sterilized and unnecessary. " Dark indeed but with purpose.

Lastly, A Bat Followed Me home had been inspired by my desire to have a series that could be dis-alarming and deceptive at the same time. Oh also bats. Lots of bats.

For my comic my not so little monster, my therapist said to draw personifications of my depression and feeling. Slowly from that it turned into a silly comic that I just kept creating characters for. Now I'm just thinking of a plot xD character design is more fun for me.

I've always wanted to draw comics. Specifically Spider-Man. If I can draw an issue of Spider-Man before I die, I will die happy.
That's still on my bucket list but I also just love creating something short and sweet and moving on.
Webcomics seemed like the logical solution.
I have so many funny ideas and I need an outlet to share them.

What originally inspired me was to get my confidence up so when I made my first comic http://tapastic.com/series/Just-Because I lost interest fast because it wasn't a comic I really wanted to work on it was only for, and I sadly admit, attention. Me and my sister always drew a lot, and I loved to write tales and stories too. When I get to know mangas, I just felt that this is something amazing... There were no limits, beautiful drawings, lovely characters whom cheered me up, and made me laugh and excited what comes next. And then I found a hungarian manga (The Future of Kingdoms)... and I just thought: "Wait! I can make my own manga too! So Why not? XD" I think I wanted to make someone as excited and loving my comics, as I did with professional mangas. Giving such feelings to unknown people is just amazing.

Silly enough (or what most song writers probably get their inspiration from) was from a bad breakup.
That and a culture shock!
I ended up moving to a complete new state across the country from my home town. And in a new town with new people and plus a long many years relationship that went sour, I felt pretty isolated. I was always inspired by marvel/DC comics and japanese anime, but I never mustered the courage to actually make a comic of my own. Or I just never felt good enough to do so.
Current events and history are huge inspirations and in my own life I have experienced prejudice of orientation, of sexuality, of human rights and these are things that ring strongly in the comic I have currently started drawing less then a month ago. Basically I spent time finding myself again and in doing so finding out that I loved drawing again as well since I stopped for a bit.
It wasn't until the end of last year I finally said "you know what? Lets do this!" and it is now sort of a self healing mechanism, plus it's a story I wanted to tell.
So I suppose what inspired me was a down period in my life that turned into a positive haha!!

I had a lot of story ideas, but I was constantly working on the concepts and never actually picking up a pencil. I'm pretty hard on myself regarding art and didn't want bad style to ruin the stories I put so much work into. I finally decided that if I wasn't ready to sit down and draw a big story comic then I would do a gag comic to sharpen my drawing skills and just get myself out there. In addition to wanting to channel my self deprecating humor and tell weird stories about my friends. Self Defeat was born.

I started thinking about a story for my comic when I was a senior in high school and I took a class called "Art and Lit of the Graphic Novel" where the final project was to make the first chapter of a comic. After that I just started to build on that, changed idea here and there, and then I started making an official comic near the beginning of the summer.
My comic is called When on High ( http://tapastic.com/series/When-on-High ) and I don't wanna give too many inspirations or else I might spoil some of it, but one of the major inspirations for my comic is kind of.... my depression.

Well, I'm also drawn. Since before I could remember and I always created my own OCs so for a while I dabbled in comic kinda stuff in high school but I never got very far so I just wrote it instead, by the time I got to college I felt comfortable enough to try again. I started with Confessions, a small snippet in 2009. And posted it on DA (it's still there). It was only a 21 page comic. Then last year after I graduated college I got the urge to re-release Confessions.

I found my best formate, right now, is drawing it all out it. Makes me practice my writing skills as well as my drawing skills!

How Hello Prince Awkward got started is I thought about how The Frog Prince usually goes and secretly snickered to myself on how I'd think the idea of a talking frog would really go.

My other favorite fractured fairy tale was the Dragon Prince. A sad story about a lady who married a prince who was secretly a dragon. The ending was not fun.

I always wondered what would it be like if the two Princes were somehow related. It took a world building overhaul but I got her started.

I used to keep to just create my version of other comics (most notably Pokemon lol). I always wanted series to go a certain way so making my own stories was my way of doing so. Life of an Aspie is a comic I've had in the works for years. It's been through several designs, a name change, heck I even have some early pages somewhere on my personal Facebook. Anyway, the earliest memory I have of LoaA is a drawing of the person would become the main character, Susan Graham, I drew sometime back in 2011. Having been something of an addict to shoujo manga back then, the ideas for LoaA flowed into my head one after the other.

I remember one idea I had early on was that the main character and the popular pretty boy at her school would eventually hook up, but not without Susan being caught up in a love triangle between the popular guy and her childhood friend. I even drew a drawing of this possible love triangle, but I nixed the idea later on as I felt that a shoujo protagonist being caught in a love triangle with the popular guy and her childhood friend had been done to death in regular shoujo manga.

Anyway, LoaA has been on my mind for over 4 years now having grown from a simple idea to a world that's forever burned into my imagination that I feel I must get out of my system. One thing I will say about my comic without giving away any plot details is that LoaA has elements of a shoujo manga, but it's not entirely a shoujo manga that must follow stock shoujo tropes to a T. You'd think I would've been reading grimm fairy tales to have come up with a story about grimm fairy tales when in fact I was watching Cloverfield.

What got me into comics was my friend telling me to make a short story I had into a comic. And I said yes. I hated making it immediately but guess what I finished that comic and now I LOVE comics <:"D The current comic I have started in 2010 when I was 15 as an idea for a prose book. That quickly got shelfed until 2013 when I dragged it back up with a big worldbuilding element that fixed many many plot issues. After that I spent my time working on the aforementioned first comic while developing my 2nd one. That happens to be the comic I'm doing now Hellbound! Its my baby and I'm so glad I'm finally getting to make it. Inspiration for it was really just the vast amount of ya supernatural books I read when I was 15. I never really wanted to make comics seriously before the ones I mentioned, but now I love them.
