What inspired your story and promote

Hello all, Saint here again. I am curious as to what everyone's inspiration was for their characters, world, narrative, and story overall.

For me, my inspirations mainly came from older animes within the dystopian/cyberpunk genre such as; Serial Experiments Lain, Ghost in the Shell, Ergo Proxy, Akira, Evangelion, etc. At least as far as the world and narrative is concerned. I was also inspired by Prototype when coming up with the abilities of the Technocytes, enhanced humans who can manipulate the metal within their bodies(due to an engineered virus called the Machina-Virus) to morph their limbs into metallic weapons and armor among various other abilities including superhuman physical capabilities.

For 3 of my characters, my inspiration mainly came from the cast of Ergo Proxy;

My comic was actually inspired by my homework mug design.

One day I lied down and came out a thought "How about I make a comic."
Then I take the color of the girl then created Eliza.

This is the old concept of Eliza.
At first I was thinking about making a nichijou kind of comic, but it kinda changed over time.

My story was designed to be, as I describe it. "An exaggerated retelling of my middle school years." See, due to a lot of circumstances, some my fault, some not, I didn't get to go to the middle school I... didn't want, but, really would've preferred. And naturally, it annoyed me immensely. As I had to go through this for a full 3 years, I slowly became a... not so nice person. I'm not going to go into details, but I began having fantasies of eternally punishing all those I'd felt had wronged me, and something was always telling me to go and do it, not to them, but to others. For the sake of spoilers for the rest of the comic, I'm not going to elaborate any further.

The main character, Donnie, is that side that wanted to just make everyone pay, but ultimately resisted the urge to do so, and tried to stay dormant. And that's where the main story comes from.

Other characters personalities we're also based off different parts of my mind. The character AJ, for example, is
based off partially the same side as Donnie was, except all those urges we're released and fully executed.

I think the fact that so much of it was based off life, and that I'm basically taking the worst 3 years of my life and trying to add a sort of twisted spin on it is why I'm so passionate about the project.

I was watching a video about this director who did a movie based on a sci-fi novel, and fans of the book gave him some flack for getting some character stuff wrong. And I thought "It's weird how the entirety of movies and whether or not they do things well or right is put on the director, a lot of people are part of that process." And then the idea of a director clutching the book that his hated movie was based on in the wake of the apocalypse (my brain is angsty chaos trash) and I just spat out this monologue. From there I created four more apocalypse survivors and wrote them their own monologues and the story just stretched on from there.

To put it short 'Issues on mental health'
I was thinking about the importance of mental health and hopefully portrayed it in a more realistic sense. Having dealt with mental health myself, I was hoping to make something that revolves around this. And so I made, The Love She Wanted.

I watched a lot of TV as a kid, and back then I started noticing how many of the shows we watched all had similar episode plotlines ("Romeo and Juliet" school plays, stolen bikes, getting a zit on picture day, etc.). Over time I started to wonder if kids who grew up with these shows actually believed the things they presented, that junior high and high school really were going to be the "best years of their lives," and started questioning how believable they really were. How many of us actually invited two dates to the prom at the same time and constantly had to switch between them?

Among my earliest inspirations were Charles Schulz's Peanuts and Kiyohiko Azuma's Azumanga Daioh - two comics about quirky, idiosyncratic kids where the titles have absolutely nothing to do with anything in the comic.

There is a podcast called welcome to nightvale, it was recommended to me a long time ago but from the first chapter it caught me. especially when they announce that the dog park has opened in the nice town of nightvale and the sheriff's secret police want to remind you that dogs are NOT allowed in the dog park, people are NOT allowed in the dog park.

Since that moment I have been attracted by all the stories that seem to go in a certain direction (a moment of terror) and suddenly give a twist to something that does not have the slightest sense

The inspiration came from a scrapped novel I planned to write but scrapped due to today’s political clime. It was called The Snow Bomber, and it featured a snowman blowing up buildings. This was, in turn, inspired by Raymond Briggs’ classic work, The Snowman. It got me thinking, “maybe talking snowmen ought to be taken more seriously as protagonists.” This is what made me create Erik.

This is a bizarre rollercoaster, ya see, during High School, I was enamored of the game "Legend of Dragoon", I loved it, and at one point, I've made a school fantasy-themed essay with a similar vibe, and so, I've made the first one-shot with my MC "Alfredo" (since the essay required a character with such name), following that, I wanted to make a small RPG Maker game expanding on that one shot, and following that, I tried to write a novel, and the first Draft extended to 12 volumes... But... I wasn't satisfied, and put it aside, then, after working on three different stories drafts that I later abandoned, I've decided to merge them all, and at one point, with the love I was developing for Final Fantasy XV (To which I got the inspiration for "Paranoia" and "Ansia", with "Amnesia" being already present in the first draft) and Kingdom Hearts III (With the the Capital of Amensia, Caput Aurum Somnai, the handles of the Dreamer's gizmos and their axe form resembling the Keyblade, being a bit of a tribute, as the franchise as a whole was one off my favorite when I was a kid), I wanted to mix the previous feel of Legend of Dragoon with the latter two, while trying to keep something by itself, and NOT a AU or Fanfiction, thinking to make it a fantasy, not much fantasy, and a Sci-fi, not much sci-fi; a common ground, a Fantasy with Sci-fi roots, or a Sci-fi with Fantasy roots?! The latter root ended up in a 4 volumes draft that I wasn't satisfied with, the former one instead led me to the actual version of the Story I'm writing as of now:

TITLE: Stories from the Golden Garden
GENRE: Fantasy, Sci-fi Drama

From the nights He used to spend by reading tales of "the Dreamers", the young Alfredo Ventura always longed to be one of them as well, unaware of the Potential that resides in his Echo, that could change the lives of those around him, whose Stories, connected to His, are the KEY to bring changes to the World of Gaia, and lead to its peace once and for all.

Isekai Anime/manga inspired my story. I took a lot of the preferences people and myself had decided to collaborate with someone to make something people would like.

My comic was inspired by Norse mythology, and a little by watching Thor late at night.
I thought "people like to make Loki good, but what if Baldr was evil?"

Okay, so here's my list:

I had this idea of a story with different types of magic, where for some you can't really tell if it's real or characters are just choosing to believe it's real (... or choosing not to believe it); it was just a short but inspiring thought;
slavic & german mythology;
back then (the very first idea / draft of the story was created about 10 years ago, but then I focused on other projects) I was really interested in personality disorders and serial poisoners, which quite affected my creations;
some songs, mostly 'the promise' by Within Temptation and 'biała karta' by Artrosis;
Full Metal Alchemist as a main inspiration of how a comic series should be written, plus probably Wolf's Rain;

... and then I also threw some of my older characters from different story into this and now we have 6,75

My comic was inspired by a real-life experience of having to let go of a friend. that, and cheesy shonen, because it's a parody.
it's also hella short, so why not give it a read?

My comic was inspired by a lot of things! But it mainly came from a time when I was in a really bad place, but every time I would go to sleep I would dream of these short little episodes of a story or something. Then it kinda just evolved into what it is today. A whole ton of angst.

At first I was inspired by Japanese manga such as Naruto, Vampire Knight, Black butler etc
Then I started to find out about other stuff as well such as Miki Falls and Brody’s ghost . Since then, I was hooked on creating a manga. However I started to lean more towards graphic novels, comics and online comics later down the line such as Carchiphona by Shilin, Motor Crush and Black panther. I later decided that my original characters designs did not fit the theme I was going for and I wanted to make it more personal by including representation and characters that look like me. My characters and story are inspired by Black Panther, Detroit become human, Castlevania and many more game, TV and graphic novel/comic franchises haha

I was inspired by the Hellboy comic, Zelda, Adventure Time, and the 90s anime aesthetic.

A video by Lars Martinson made me go for the visual novel aesthetic, and the Fire Emblem entries on the GBA and Gamecube greatly influenced my character designs (though I still use several other sources for inspiration)

Finally, Earthbound's battle screens inspired my abstract backgrounds

The art style for my series is heavily influenced by Spy vs Spy with some Chuck Jones humor in the mix. But my series also reflects America's foreign policy over the last twenty years.
