What is your biggest regret in comics / novels?

I regret giving up on webtoons/webcomics twice (2015,2017) because I didn't know how to draw, in 2020 after years of study, I'll create my masterpiece. xD

Starting my comic in Pixel-Art. But even though it's a regret, I wouldn't change it. I learned so much by doing it that way, and still built up my self-confidence through the struggle.

Yeah and I made it harder on myself because I refused to re-use assets and make sprite sheets of all the characters. No...I wanted to draw every panel uniquely.

not backing up my work. I had a previous comic that was 2 chapters from completion but my motivation for it was already waning. I had drawn the an entire chapter for it already but My old computer died and I lost everything. Literally everything and that was the straw that broke the camel's back and its now on indefinite hiatus(probably would just reboot it). Really that whole comic was a mess especially by the end I was making stuff up without script. Also big mistake

The same thing happened a few weeks ago but I had backed up my art on a flash drive so I didn't lost anything. But Im sad how old old comic went. Im glad I still did it, it taught me alot for my current comic, but still, it sucks.

You're the dude/tte that created isekai mahou shoujo, did you try publishing it elsewhere? RoyalRoad is full of incels.

probably. I switched the comic over to a different medium because I plateaued in the desire to keep that aesthetic going.
Good decision, but it left me with 24 pages of pixels to redraw at a later date. But, again, I'm okay with having done it that way. I wouldn't be at my current skill level without it.

How do you approach your script now?

.....Script the entire comic from page 1 to 1000 , panel by panel, page by page. Before even Thumb nailing the first chapter. Gives me enough time to rethink and change stuff.

So now I have my current comic as a script that that I just draw out with out much thinking and if any thing goes wrong, I can just post that and say "If you want to know it ends but my hands were crushed in Afghanistan, read the script"

I regret not starting sooner. I didn't have an internet presence until I was 25

I also regret not getting into novels sooner, I can finish a project so much faster than in comics.

before kids etc
