What is your favorite Final Fantasy game?

The only one I dislike is FFII. Fuck that stupid battle system.

But for my favorites:

FFVI
The Tactics Trilogy
FF Theathrythm

I guess those are the ones I like the best, but honestly I love to play basically all of them.

Am I going to find some love for the XIII Trilogy in this thread?

Honestly, I couldn't even finish FF13 because it was so boring to me. A friend did tell me about the other games, and I'm sure I would have loved FF13 if there was more to the world. For me, I love how in FF games you can explore and learn more about the world, but FF13 didn't have that

Yo, I have feelings about 2. Mostly what got me was how absolutely vague it was in as far as direction, and it had hidden (but necessary) items. And if you continued the game with that second mode, then it was... impossible.

Haven't played many.

IX is my favorite, enjoyed but ultimately didn't care about VII, and VIII was pretty fun. Didn't like 10 one bit.

599 hours in XIV before I quit.

Hmm, my played list is pretty short, since I only kinda got into the series a few years back. I've completed:

Of those... 4 is probably definitely my favorite of the completed ones. Short playtime, but some old school goodness~ played it like 3 or 4 summers ago. 13's actually probably my 2nd on the list. 15 was good but the multitude of problems kinda turned me off, and 13-2 improved on 1's battle system but like... the story was whack LOL I gotta say though, 13-2 has a fantastic soundtrack! The CE is like dirt cheap nowadays and comes with the full 4-disc OST so I got that *u*

On the incomplete list, 8 definitely gets my favorite. It was a case of me putting it down because school was starting back up rather than disliking it. Triple Triad is low key addictive. And I like most of the cast a lot xD they're all so silly. 6 def seemed good, I'd like to finish someday to see why it's so highly praised. Also interested in playing more Lightning Returns someday. Silly story aside, I like the exploration and combat in that one, from what little I played :]

My favorite is IV, and second favorite is VI. I couldn't get through VII, it has aged terribly!
I haven't been able to play the newer ones because of money, but XV looks awesome!!

FF VII. My favorite characters were the chocobos XD, Yuffie's (it was a hidden one) and Cid characters were really cool. The story is also interesting at least for me and the Goddess- like attacks.
FF X-2 I liked the dressphere part.
FF IX The medieval scenary

Does it count if I actually almost never played and just watched someone play (before there was youtube) because I wanted to know the story?? XD

Favorite is still 7- I bought Tactics, but never learned how to play it, so it went to waste.

Bought 8- still had it in the plastic; unfortunately, someone stole it from me.
Bought 9; played it but got bored with it so I never finished it.
Bought 12, didnt finish it coz I'm like older and doin the "parent" thing; also had a relative come over & DESTROYED my PS2(I now have gotten The Zodiac Age on PS4 but havent had time to start it yet with all the comics stuff I've been doing)
Bought 13- havent finished it yet coz I'm trying to get those rare pieces to make their ultimate weapons.
Bought 15; havent started it yet.

VI is really an amazing game, Kefka is, well, Kefka. SNES games are love.

Aside from story and gameplay I just want to mention something, I saw lotsa peeps mentioning FF tactics, that's a game I really would like to play, sadly I haven´t, but I mention it because the game was made by Yasumi Matsuno (director) and Akihiko Yoshida (artist), those guys are amazing, every game they make is gorgeus (they later did FF XII).

If you want to check guys that are icons in the game industry please do check both of them works (they usually work together).

note: Yoshida also did designs and art for Nier: Automata if anyone's into more recent games.

I have played all of them. With the exception of FF X, that just sucks very hard in all aspects IMO, they are all very good games.

@Menbung is right, Nier Automata is beautiful, but I haven't played it yet.

My favorite is 7, but I'm biased there just because I have so much nostalgia attached to it, haha. It had such a major impact on me as a person that I don't think anything could top it for that reason alone.

Other than that, I haven't played/finished all of them, but I've liked the ones I've played (for the most part). I'm currently playing FF6 for the first time and it's fantastic.

FF IX: loved the story.
FF XII: the class system is amazing.

X-2. it's the first I ever played, and besides pokemon, the first game i played period. it's still my favorite half because of the fond memories and half because i did enjoy it more than X. female centric and just enough Tidus to not be completely turned off by how obnoxious he is win win

I have since discovered that seemingly no one else liked it, but FF 13 was my favorite. I suppose it helped that I also read a bunch of fan fiction. I couldn't get through the spin offs though. I still have the music on my playlist bc it was fantastic
FF 15 was just so beautiful and the story moved fast enough to keep me invested, so I kinda just binged it in one week
