So I'm gonna need some new entertainment to help me de-stress after midterms, and I'm looking for stuff that's more underrated/obscure that I probably haven't seen already. So feel free to recommend and talk a bit about your favourite pieces of media here! You can recommend comics on tapastic too!

I'm gonna start off with my recommendation here, it's not super unheard of but it definitely is underrated.
Kekkai Sensen (aka Blood Blockade Battlefront). I'd recommend both the Manga and anime since they're both pretty good imo. I think the reason why it isn't too popular is because it follows an episodic / vignette style of format, which I know annoys some people who come in expecting a single constantly developing story arc. But if your into urban fantasy/action/slice of life and don't mind the episodic format you should check it out.

I love Kekkai Sensen! Leonardo Watch is probably the sweetest main character I've ever seen.

A book that I love is Ender's Game or Ready Player One. They're both really good and have nice lessons.

I love kekkai sensen too, my favorite character is Black, what can I say!. But one of my manga series I read a lot and I like the argument is Bungou Stray Dogs, I think the anime and manga is very good for me, maybe you like it.

Pff I only know movies and tv shows, I don't know how popular they are, though. I just know no one ever talks about them.

Farscape. Produced by the Jim Henson company, and this is one of my favourite sci-fi series.

The Little Prince. A really cute, imaginative kids movie.

The Triplets of Belleville. A real fun animation with an interesting style.

Serial Mom. Sort of a fucked up comedy, very ridiculous, and has been a favorite since I was in elementary school.

Fido. Another ridiculous, fucked up comedy.

Cannibal :the Musical. One of Trey Parker's earliest works, also one of the most intentionally dumb movies you'll ever see. (Other than Kung Pow: Enter the Fist)

Redline. Very entertaining movie story wise, and visually.

This probably isn't even underrated, but Catcher in the Rye is my favorite book ever, I fell in love with Holden's antihero personality and how naive he is. :)))

If you haven't read Giant Days you should. One of the best series on the shelves!

OMG REDLNE! It's fantastic, I could watch it over and over again and never grow tired of it.

Oban Star Racers, man... why is it so underrated? I ask my friends to watch it whenever I get the chance to mention it.

Great variety of character designs, action, great humor, drama that squeezed a tear here and there out of me, lovely locations and backgrounds. Sure, it has some hiccups in the plot and a lot of people complain about the style choice, but if you get past that, it's really enjoyable.

Mine would have to "More than this" by Patrick Ness. Its a very sad but very good dystopian si-fi book.

I also love Bungou Stray Dogs. It's not the most well known anime but people still have heard of it and its my favourite anime, The characters are great!

I love this manga , i think you should take a look here2,
it's called Route End , The suspenseful story of a young man whose job is to clean up crime scenes.

I don't know anybody around me who have read The republic of trees. I don't know why I like it, it's sick XD
Maybe "The Engelsfors trilogy" is more known, but I feel it is underrated, even if it has a movie from the first book:

It was good in movie too, but I would be happy to see a hollywood version it too

i am aaaaaaall about podcasts right now, and ive found some really good ones

firstly, theres friends at the table - a podcast where a group of friends play role playing games, like DnD, together, exploring both fantasy and scifi in different games. its a cast full of great people, who play some diverse and interesting characters, and you really come to love both. the best arc to start with imo is counter/weight or marielda - counter/weight is a reaaaaaaally cool cyberpunk story about robots as gods, and marielda is the shortest arc, really well put together about some heists and killing a god. the music is also amazing, and the worldbuilding is the best part, its so interesting and indepth.

theres also the once and future nerd, which is a genre-aware radio play about some kids from pennsylvania getting warped into a fantasy land where elves are at war with orcs, and humans are their servants, and nothing is as it seems. also, all the elves are texan. its awesome.

Mmmm, movies. Lemme think...

Basically, all I ever watch are cartoons. :no_mouth:

They're really good, though!

I remember watching this a couple years ago! I didn't expect it to be any good but I was pleasantly surprised.

If anime is your interest, then I could totally recommend these lesser known shows:

Brynhildr in the Darkness - A crazy cool show that I got hooked on back in middle school with awesome intro music and a bizarre plot. Fantasy mixed with Sci-fi. Watch it for yourself to see if you can vibe with it.
There's witches and aliens.

My Love Story!! - Hilarious romcom slice-of-life anime that is one of my few favorites. Basically about this giant Japanese student Takeo who has bad luck with girls (probably because of his size and muscular build). His neighbor and close friend Makoto is good looking, always unintentionally stealing the girls, until Rinko is saved by Takeo on the train. They form a quirky relationship. Lots of episodes! :sunglasses:

I immediately know that you are a splendid person. Why the frell don't more people watch this show?
