I'm going to have to check this game out- I love strategy games!
Speaking of.

My current favorites- sorry I can't settle on one- are:
Seven Wonders
Stone Age
Zooloretto - which you might check out because it's also simple in the mechanics, surprisingly strategic and creative, and is about filling your zoo with animals- I'm curious how similar these games are now.
Saboteur

The top three are strategy-type games with a strong element of chance. They're all easy to learn and the top two have multiple strategies for winning, which I really enjoy. The bottom two are a lot of fun for psyching people out and destroying friendships if you play them right.

I've been really enjoying RWBY Combat Ready. I love PvE games the most where you can team up against an enemy.

This is one that I played recently and it was pretty awesome and we got our asses kicked pretty badly. I'm looking forward to playing it again and trying to beat it!! We were so close the second time! It's a PvE deck builder.

This is another one I really enjoyed and I think you really need to have 8 people for it. We just had such a great run of it, it was awesome. I was the radio operator, I think it was called. Two submarines battle each other basically and each person has a specific task. The radio operator marked down locations.

Not a big fan of board games, but I played a bit of Risk recently. The most difficult with this game is finding people who don't get offended when all the other players ally against them :smiling_imp:

played DnD with my cousins it was a great fun time
also chess I would play chess when it wasn't my teams turn in P.E with the teacher and class mates, it was really fun =)

Backgammon! It's a bit old school, but loads of fun imo. The strategy involved is lovely to learn. c:

We recently got Ticket to Ride: Europe, and it's great!

Other than that, the one we always play is good ol' Steeplechase.

I like DnD and various GURPS games, just because I enjoy roleplay writing. I'd say DnD isn't my favourite because I don't actually like high fantasy but I can't think of a particular GURPS game right now that is my fave.

I don't really play board games, but I did recently play a round of Catopoly with my family that was pretty fun! It's exactly what it sounds like.. cat monopoly. Buy cats. Lots of cats.

I love Carcassonne! It's a fun game to play because it is a strategy game but it's easy enough, so anyone can enjoy it. There are also tons of expansions for it in case the base game feels too small.

Another game I really like is Codenames. It's a game where teams take turns trying to guess the right words on the board with hints. I like playing this with my siblings because we know each other so well that the hints can get really obscure at times.

I'd say Mysterium (the original Ukrainian one, not the French remake). First of all it is a cooperative game, and I always favor those over the competitive ones. Second, it is freakishly easy for newcomers, you can just sit down and start playing, all the rules can be explained in 5 minutes. Third, it never gents old. We've been playing it on a regular basis for several years now, and every time it is something new.

Carcassonne and Codenames are both great games! I've had a lot of fun with both. I almost thought about putting Codenames on my list.

Ohh, Mysterium is another one I thought for my list! I didn't know there were different versions of it. I think the one I play is based off the Ukranian one? At least looking at what the differences are it seems to be that one. It did seem to be getting a bit too easy for us though since I realized we were always winning, so last time I was trying to make it a bit more difficult by having the psychics not be able to talk to each other, but everyone still talked anyway. lol Except for the last part and we still got it all right.

It is a toss up between Chess and Scrabble. I love brain games.

Call me old, but Chess is an all time favorite for me. Quick use of brain to outwit your opponent really triggers my soul XD.

I really like Arkham Horror but it takes forever and I usually get stuck playing with people who feel the need to consult the rules after every little thing that happens just to make sure we're playing "correctly" which just makes an already long game take even longer.

I also love Clue BD Can't go wrong with the CLASSICS.

I'm not always super into board games, but those are a couple I'm usually down for.

Checkers.
Simple, strategic, and amazingly addictive. In my family, once any two people start playing, it's not long before you have a checkers tournament on your hands...

@IdiotWithPencil @wumblebumarts i don`t know how i forgot to add D&D to my list!,is one of my favourites too. I loved Gming and inventing cool adventures and loved roleplaying fun characters. Also i learned a lot about writing characters and stories there XD.

@feardeer Catopoly???,buying cats??? i should check that out!

@Kat Zooloretto sound interesting....

Monopoly. Managing money and destroying your opponents, what better family board game is there?

There's a lot I like actually, both my mom, and my significant other are huge into them and as a result I've honestly played so much I don't know which one would be my fav x.x I also can't remember what pretty much any of them are called ^^;;;;

For one more recent one, I'm not sure what it was called, funemployed? or something like that, where basically you're applying to job with somewhat worthless credentials like "has fake teeth" or "moist" and you have to try and bullshit how you'll be perfect for the job and sell yourself up against the other players to get the job.

Exploding Kittens was a lot of fun too. Uno is a great classic for ruining friendships, and Risk is fun if you have the time for it. My friends and I play a risk rip-off on a website, so we can just open it when we're able to to take a turn, though it usually results in a game lasting days.

Hmm some of my recent favorites:

Dominon - it's a pretty straightforward deck building game, but lots of fun~ I've collected a good amount of the expansions for it now, so it seems like we're always running into new combinations when we play. Can comfortably support up to like 6-8 players (although it's designed for like 2-4)

Pixel Tactics - 2 player cardgame, each player has a bunch of RPG characters in their deck, one of which you choose as your leader and the rest are your army. The goal is to kill the other player's leader. It's pretty interesting, it plays on a 3x3 grid and each char has a different ability depending on if you play them front row, middle, back row, if they're your leader, or you can discard them for a one-time effect.

Santorini - One of my friends owns this one, it's like a building game where you and your opponent(s) move around the board and build up a city, and the first one to reach the top wins. Each player gets a Greek/Roman (maybe just greek?) god power that gives you an additional ability on top of just moving/building. Really need to pick this one up for myself... it's pretty cheap >o>
