If we're talking about comic art style, I'll go with Franco-Belgian cartoonish style à la Morris, Uderzo, Hergé, Franquin...
But I do love some realistic too (Bilal, Rosinski...)

I like semi-realistic art styles more than simply just realistic and cartoonish. I guess the best style to describe the art style I'm referring to is that of these:

Another good example would be any of the in game or concept art for the last 5 final fantasy games.

Personally, I enjoy reading cartoony styles the most...although there are lots of kinds of cartoons; a statement like that doesn't mean much. ^^; I just mean things with sharp, bold lines and powerful flat colors. There is some anime that fits under that banner, too, so I kinda walk between the two worlds, trying to find my aesthetic.

I'd have to say my least favorite is the DC-style realism. Not because I dislike it, but because it's so rarely done well. It takes a long time to master realistic styles, and even longer to master the dynamic shading characteristic of that particular one. I mean, you've gotta be pretty confident to cover half a character in solid black shadow and feel good about it.
Anyway, not many artists really "have it" in that department, even among industry pros. Either their realism is wonky or their shading is wonky or both are a little off and the whole comic is a bit painful to look at...

I’d say Manga

I started with a manga style but i'm not into that anymore, so i went through semi-realistic and cartoonish style, so in the end my favorite art style is a mix between cartoon and semi-realistic ^^ also children illustration style has its charm!

I'll admit I'm not a huge fan of classic Marvel/DC style. It won't necessarily stop me from reading a comic, but I just don't tend to love it. I'm a lot more attracted to cartoony/manga styles, usually with the emphasis on cute and whimsical rather than grotesque. Stan Sakai, Jeff Smith, Doug TenNapel, David Petersen, Hergé, Uderzo, Lorena Alvarez, Miriam Bonastre, Skottie Young, Ted Naifeh, Mike Mignola (who doesn't do "cute," but I love his work anyway) - you get the idea.

Surprisingly I've never gone in much for ultra-shiny desu magical girl type work though. I love magic and sparkles and all, but stylistically some of it is just... too much for me.

CARTOONS, BABY. Especially when they incorporate either the realistic or Marvel/DC/Valient Comics way!

I love styles from the Golden Age, the 50s & 60s, as well as the '90s and 2000s, and try to make my work with that honor in mind. Almost like a tribute to those classic, experimental styles and storytelling. I'm a real cartoon NUT, hehehe.

I tend to gravitate toward cartoon style, but i don't mind styles that are manga-influenced. Idk... it's kind of tricky because most comics i like tend to blend the two styles really well. As long as the story is interesting, I can go either way.

I don't have a favorite art style but I tend to prefer characters drawn with realistic proportions and realistic sexual dimorphism. I don't like enormous eyes and tiny noses on girls, exagerate chins and tiny eyes on guys, guys looking 5 times the size of girls, overly thin characters etc. The overall style does not have to be realistic though.

Funny, but unfair, I think. That's not even close to representing all the cartoon styles that exist; whoever made that picture just happened to pick six similar looking pictures (and from only 3 different sources, at that. Why would you expect them to look different if most of them come from the same place??).

I could make a collage of shoujo anime that uses that "basic big eyes" style and pretend that it means all anime looks the same, but that wouldn't make it true.

Exactly this. What that picture above represents is maybe what more recent cartoons look like in the "2010s" era. Might have to do with what's popular now and all that. Maybe even some of those cartoons coming from the same source.

But if you look at cartoons predating that (using Cartoon Network as my example):

There's no way you can say they look the same.

That being said, the styles I enjoy are 1980s/90s anime and 1950s cartoons. So things like Cowboy Bebop, Macross, Looney Tunes, and what not.

I mean honestly I just picked the first picture I found but they are made by radically different people but aired on the same channel. But honestly, just load up a guide and pick a channel if it doesn't look like thing above, it looks like a more cost effective version of Fosters. Just because something is on the same channel doesn't mean that the variety has to be on such a low level it's borderline incestuous.

I actually love the cartoon styles of the 80-90s but if we're talking about here and now, Most manga have a variety that new things in American media don't offer.

I grew up with American cartoons, but nowadays I find myself liking manga/eastern style more. I see manga and anime with characters of normal-ish proportions more often, and the aggressive squash-and-stretch wacky style of some western cartoons just don’t look that attractive to me. The best is when the two are combined, though:

I definitely prefer manga style over Western cartoons and comics style. That's because I grew up on anime and I don't really read any comics from the European or American artists, just 1-2 of my favourites and now a bunch from Tapas authors.
I don't really like the style of Marvel and DC and other famous classic comics. I've only read Fables and I was so tired of styles that changed every chapter. But I enjoy all kinds of illustrations, cartoonish or realistic, that's just depends on the artist!
As for my style it's something like semi-realistic heavily based on manga, but it's not? I'm not sure myself
