Potentially super morbid job alert...?
So
I and a small team of other artists actually make a lot of the portraits you see up front at funerals. We serve the whole country so if you're in the US you may have seen one of them. The job requires actual artists and not technicians b/c often-times we have to make a nice looking "painterly" keepsake portrait from nothing more than a bad cellphone selfie, a drivers license scan covered with watermarks, a horrible moire scan from newsprint, a heavily damaged vintage photo...and so on.
On very rare occasions, the only photo of them was not captured while they were still living...but that is less than 1% of the time. But yes we occasionally have to go Full Victorian on those.
