What just happened to my sub number on webtoons? (Huge jump)

Logged in today to see my comic on webtoons has jumped from ~100 subs to ~700 subs, seemingly overnight. Or at least since the last time I logged on, which was when I uploaded on Sunday.

I'm in shock.

Is this a mistake? Did I get promoted? What happened??

I literally spit out my drink like a cartoon when I saw that number.

You may have got a staff recommendation on the app - I had the same thing in the spring, didn't figure out until checked through mobile.

@seasa It's just how they do it really. A few months ago they had all the same titles both in app (in Specials too, as I recall) and on the site front page, but then they just changed it to what you see now.

Huh, I was wondering why I experienced a huge jump on subs too this week. I cheched the website but I wasn't mentioned anywhere but I didn't think maybe they had different recommendations on the app. Interesting!

Man lots of people here saying they got promoted as well. Did webtoons change something about who they promote this week or do they do this all the time?

Congratualtions!! I've been seeing a lot of people from the forums being promoted these days!
I know I was up there for a wee bit:

I know @Samuraiflame was in Binge-Worthy on the mobile app for a little bit, and now Pamcakes is in Brand New World!

They must be watching some of us somehow. I think in no time, you'll be able to reach 1k subs and above! Awesome work!!

It'd be really neat if webtoons was actually watching these forums. They're a great way to find interesting stories with smaller followings.
Alternatively, maybe it's just that people who care enough to post on the forums are more likely to have effortful art and story and update regularly? Or perhaps the forums are just big enough that we're suffering from some sort of response bias.

Actually, recently their schedule became somewhat erratic, it seems. Some categories don't change for weeks, and some change on other days, like Wednesday or Thursday. It is still "at least a week" the though, but I gave up on trying to figure out how Webtoons work some time ago
