What kind of music do you listen to when making your comic?

I can agree with that! My husband went and got a cheap 8 months with no ad's subscription so we're using hulu for now. Don't know what I'm gonna do when it goes back to normal haha. We like streaming things so we can watch anime before we get out of bed on weekends.

This is pretty much true for me. I do get slightly agitated by hearing some sorts of pop music at times though. That's kind of interesting I think

I don't think it's all that weird that people find inspiration from listening to metal though. Much of metal is in its essence very epic in scope. I imagine it functions much like how people find inspiration from listening to movie soundtracks like for instance the soundtracks of the Lord of the Rings movies.

When pencilling and lettering, I usually don't listen to music. I find that at these moments, that extra bit of concentration is very important, as these first two steps are the "backbone" of the comic. I usually listen to music when inking though. My tastes consist of alt rock, punk, and post-punk. I've found that it's helpful to listen to entire albums at a time — when the album ends, it's a good time to take a stretch break.

I do tend to concentrate a lot better when i'm listening to Video Game and Anime OSTs while working on my comic. I especially love the soundtracks from various RPGs.

That's a good point! I absolute love a good epic sounding song ^-^ It's so cool when a song with a story to it can make you actually feel like you're there. Starset (not metal but still a little angry I guess), does a wonderful job setting the atmosphere into their music. I know a lot of other bands do too, but these guys came to mind first.

I'm an action and adventure type when coming up with stories so it makes sense that these things would inspire some of them.

Ah, I can understand that! We actually had some pretty terrible internet when we first moved in, but for us it was because the base modem and router weren't all that great. We have better luck since we bought our own.

Like, when we first moved in we started playing LotRO and in the middle of group content we'd freeze up and one of us had to quickly log out so the other would have enough internet to live. His class was more important so I got to be the link dead person. There was also the "We're in the middle of an orc camp. Quick! Force close the game so we're not dead when we get back!" Fun times~

LOL. my internet is pretty ok when it comes to speed, but i only get a little bit, and downloading the littlest thing will screw my internet up. But hey, atleast i have something.

usually the same music i use when i'm studying for school, so a lot of indie/ambient/chill-wave! (spotify is a godsend when it comes to that omg)
