What laptops and desktops do you use for art?

so my macbook has poped its clogs.

Im living in Japan and finding computers isnt hard to come by but if im honest, places like akihabara are super expensive and I myself dont know what to look for when buying a new PC, I have always used top quality screens but when it comes to PC's im out of the loop (been using a macbook pro for the last 6 years)

anyway can you guys suggest or tell me about your comps?

I use a custom built PC for my desktop and a Dell Inspiron for my laptop. I do heavy 3D work, so most of the time I'm on my desktop since the processor is built for multitasking and the video card has tons of RAM.

For PCs, it's almost always better to not get the latest hardware since the version before will cost a fraction of the top price and give you just about the same performance. So the major question is, what will you be using it for? Graphic work? Word Processing and internet browsing? High end gaming?

I just use a Toshiba laptop, it works pretty well for me though my only complaint is fingerprints are really easy to see on it so I have to wipe it down often.

I use a Windows 8 HP laptop for everything, but I would love a decent sized desktop. However for space issues I'm fine doing everything on a portable device.The portability can determine what you want for a new computer as well.

I'm using MSI GE40 DRAGON EYES
8D (it has eyes. seriously)
And I have to say I'm in love with it!!!
I felt a tremendous difference when I switched to SSD disc (it opens any adobe program in a secod <3 )

I’m a printer, so I’ve used Macs at work for most of my computer life. My own computer is an ancient Titanium PowerBook (16 years old). It still works great! With Wacom tablets, I imagine that it doesn’t even matter anymore, but I still use pen and ink and then scan. Best of luck in your future computer purchases.

Still using my good ol' Lenovo laptop from 2011. It's still holding on. I've at least update my scanner to an Epson and it works alot better than my old Dell that I've had since 2005.

I heard the Microsoft Tablet Surface Pro is good for a portable tablet/computer! but it's a bit pricey though
