What literary/comic work inspired you? +Promote

a few webcomics i read inspired me to do my work, one was jack by driprat ,and another was wrongside(i honestly forgot the authors name) showed that hey these are pretty cool and i should try this out, looking back i should have practiced my art more but what can you do

Hm...the biggest inspiration for me would probably be That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime. I've always been inspired by anime more or less when it comes to writing my novels but there was something about that anime that just made my brain absolutely fire up with ideas! Whether it was the down-to-earth character Rimuru had or just the exploration/learning more about the world he's been resurrected into. The show just made me burst into writing more and more books!

However, though that anime is what made me go down the path of enjoying the act of writing isekai-inspired novels. I believe that Ghost of Tsushima or The Last of Us (first game) is probably what made me have a strange interest towards giving a darker flavor to my characters/world-building.

Writing happy-go-lucky stories is fun, it's reassuring in a way since I know things are going to be alright in the end no matter what my MC may face in the moment yet, darker books? Whether it's the MC dying at the end of the book or making the entire world seem hopeless, I love it, more than I originally thought I would! If I'm able to give my character a darker feel about them and/or goal, believe this, I am so much happier writing them than I was writing completely happy/positive characters!

I think for me books started with the fact that I was named after a character from a Sydney Sheldon's book. With that being said, there are many books and comics i admire and get inspired by. And here they are:

Here's my comic! It's a supernatual mystery (my favorite two genres combined). It's about two siblings who start their summer off with a mysterious stranger that ends up in their backyard. Now it's up to them to figure out the secrets of the forest and the creatures that lurk within.

My comic was inspired mostly by anime/manga related things, since I've read a lot of those growing up and to this day. Here's some that influenced my work the most!:

• Nichijou (anime/manga): the show had this little segment called "like love" (or love like, i forgot), that had cute scenes of wholesome moments in everyday life with little dialogue. I thought it was very cute how the segment stressed the little things in life.

• Yuri on Ice! (anime): the show explained the differences between agape (unconditional love) and eros (sexual love), so that gave me the idea of using the greek definitions of love in my series

• A Place Further Than the Universe (anime): this one didnt directly influence my work, but it was the one that pushed me to even create a webtoon in the first place. The show stressed the importance of making your most out of your youth, and so I was like: "woah, I'm literally doing nothing with my life other than studying. If i looked back on my youth when I'm older I wouldn't be able to remember much". So, I decided to do something to give meaning to my life other than being a student, so I ultimately decided to make a webtoon series!

My comic is also heavily inspired by anime/manga. Though it's mainly a comedy slice-of-life, a lot of romance series have influenced what kind of story I wanted to tell with this series.

Some major inspirations include:
- Monthly Girls Nozaki-Kun
- Ouran High School Host Club
- The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.
- Kiki's Delivery Service (despite sharing the same name, no i did not name my main character after her)
- Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day (Now you may be asking "PK, why is this angsty series an inspiration for your comedy?" and I say to that "Don't worry about it :)")

I was actually pleasantly surprised with the third I read; a lot of reviews at the time said it was overly-long and slow, but I honestly found it to be perfectly fine -- if anything, I had a lot more issues with Wind-Up when it came to problems like that...

Reviews do say a lot about books but I prefer reading them and think how the book was by myself.
Started Wind-up bird last month and still haven't completed reading it
Personally, I hear people people say that Norwegian Wood was their best read by Murakami but I think After Dark and Colourless Tsukuru Tazaki were the ones that left me baffled. [here goes my literary geek babbling ]

Norwegian Wood was my first, but I definitely agree that of the more "down-to-earth" ones, Colorless was a lot more enjoyable for me.

Anyhow, this is getting a bit off-topic, but good to know there's people who read some Murakami!!

Soo i dont actually read many books but i love it when i read books. I've been reading too much bl comics past this year, and it made me realize how people can fall in love or get a crush by just a simple thing. They don't even realize it! Most of the comics i read had many complications in them. Since i really like writing stories, i made a story in which it shows that there doesn't have to be complications. I also got to know how people interact when they like someone, how they talk and tease/flirt. So yeah-
I got inspired by many tapas authors and a few videos that i used to watch.
So the novel that i am writing right now, it surely is inspired by those good authors and all but the idea and plot and the whole storyline for the novel came to me in my dream :^
So i wrote it all in the notepad and started writing it on tapas, however i deleted it but now i am uploading it again!

The works/novels that directly inspired my novel were Togashi Yoshihiro namely Hunter X Hunter.

Issac Asimov has always been a big inspiration. Nietzsche and Mainländer ideas definitely did help me with a lot of the novels plotting. Religious texts from the Quran, Bible and Torah also helped me a bit in one way or the other.

It really is a mix of inspirations from all over really.
