What makes you laugh in comics and stories?

For me it´s a mix of sarcasm, worldplay, situational, dark, satire,
obeservational, absurdist, parody humor. I also like provoking non
pc humor.

My favorite genre to write is sex comedy with all those elements
and believe me, it´s not easy.

My own style of humor is pretty dry and deadpan I guess. Just whatever I feel like would be funny or suitable.

Mostly satire or dark humour. For sarcasm it depends on how it is execute sometimes

Sarcasm, political incorrectness, stupidity.

Along the lines of Jeff Dunham, Tagalog comedy movies where the MC can't do anything right and he's a total clown, Southpark, Beavis and Butthead, Simpsons, Family guy, etc.

I don't know the words for different types of comedy but i like something like Gintama the MC has laid back persona and story revolves around his day to day life... the comedy in this story will literally give you lol moments and here is small fun fact, i was watching one piece series and in between just while checking out some anime titles i watched this... and oh boy it was just a laugh riot... and stopped watching one piece until i finished this series... ( i also like humor in one piece though)... i just don't know what different types comedy are... never looked it up..

For my comics I like to make my characters so completely a caricature of the “thing” they are. One of my most popular characters is a hugely sex-obsessed bimbo and I like to stick her with characters who are extremely different and squeeze out any funny tension that comes out of that. I like dumb characters who get into silly situations with a touch of absurdism. Like a situational comedy if it was very raunchy and sometimes dreamlike.

For the stage, my comedy is a lot more personal and punchy. The personal aspect makes my comedy a lot darker than the stuff I write for comics. I still combine some more surreal stuff in there too (though that can be hard to get away with depending on the audience). A newspaper once mentioned me in an article about comedy talking about how “dark humor is back”.

Yes! Generally if I’m not working on comics I’m either writing and/or performing most nights.

My favorite kinds of humor in comics is character based humor, followed by visual gags and then puns. The best is if you can get all three in a panel at the same time!
