I like third person limited omniscient. So you know everything about the main's thoughts, you sometimes see the others, but you can still be surprised.

I read first person and enjoy it, but I always think "ugh" when I first see it.

My favorite is Third Person Limited :smug_01:

But if done well, I like Omniscient too. I feel like if the writing isn't clear/organized enough for omniscient it can get a bit jumbled. So Limited is my comfort zone where at least I know the story is being told from just one Character's perspective.

First person is a hit or miss. Depends on if the character telling me the story is someone I can stand xD. Favorites off the top of my head are Offred from Handmaid's Tale, and Harry Dresden from Storm Front. :heart_01:

This section helped me a lot in deciphering what POV I should use. I tried taking into account all the other responses, and I made up my mind to stay in third person. Not because most of the people preferred third-person POV, but I did a couple of experiments and comparisons, and I think I just found my style.

Take em' for a spin and write in fifth person. "One should go for a coffee."

Third, only first if it's in well managed current tense. But that's hard to do without making it sound like bad fanfiction.

I had a part recently, in my third person story, where I was describing grief, in a universal sense, and I switched to second person in that. My editor told me that it's too awkward, but I'm struggling to find a way to keep it in. I feel like using "you" in a general sense really feels like I can connect with the reader, especially if they've experienced what I'm describing.
